New Tax Bill and Developments Impacting the Security/Life Safety Industry - the Focus of an Interactive ESX Session

CounterPoint Session Added to ESX Lineup, “New Tax Law Explained and Enlightened”

(Nashville, TN) The new tax reform law, “Tax Cuts and Jobs Act,” signed by President Trump a few months ago, will be the topic of an interactive CounterPoint Forum titled, “New Tax Law Explained and Enlightened,” held at the Electronic Security Expo (ESX) on Friday, June 22 at 9:45 a.m.

“The new tax bill has a lot of benefits,” says Mitch Reitman, Managing Principal of Reitman Consulting Group (RCG). “Unfortunately, it was developed and passed in a hurry, and with a lot of items the IRS and Congress are still addressing.”

Developments like those mentioned by Reitman, make it both timely and important to seek education about the law, and its implications on businesses.

In this ESX CounterPoint Forum, Reitman and advisors will help integrators, dealers and monitoring professionals understand the changes by breaking down the impacts of the new tax law on the industry.

“Discussions will include how the changes to tax law might affect customers, how enterprise valuations may change, how business owners can adapt and possibly benefit from these changes, and what some of the specific terminology of the law means.

Specific details about what “Qualified Business Income” means – and how it impacts companies – will be discussed. Reitman says the treatment of pass-through income for LLCs and subchapter corporations will be explained.

This is the opportunity for electronic security and life safety professionals to tap experts for actionable steps they can make to take advantage of the tax law, reaping the benefits Reitman believes are available after he wrestled and digested the convoluted process.

Unlike typical presentations, ESX’s CounterPoint Forums are open, highly interactive sessions, where debate is sparked. Industry professionals will discuss their views freely and passionately to sharpen each other through engaging dialogue.

The “New Tax Law Explained and Enlightened” CounterPoint Forum is part of the Rethink the Future education track at ESX, held June 19-22. This track, sponsored by Alarm.com, will focus on current trends, market shifts and the necessary forward-thinking strategies to move the industry ahead.

ESX will offer four educational tracks, so passionate security professionals of all backgrounds will find what they are looking for among the 35+ peer-led sessions.

Access to the ESX expo and exhibitor offered education is free.

For a limited time, the upgraded Premium Pass, including access to all four educational tracks, Expo and Main Stage inspiration, is being offered at $199 per person. Prices are set to increase soon.
