ESX 2019 Registration

My ESX Experience: Sofia Aguilar

Sure, we think ESX is great! But we’re a bit biased. Here’s what other leaders from electronic security integration companies have to say about their ESX Experience. Meet Sofia Aguilar.

Q: What company do you work for and what is your job title there? I am a managing member (partner), and the sales manager for A-1 Security Systems, located in Denver Colorado.

Q: What are your day-to-day responsibilities at the company? Along with my partner, Leif Wulforst, I wear many hats. I supervise the sales team; hire and fire; train employees; deposit money; interact with the accountants and the office staff; work on the marketing campaigns and our webmaster; specify equipment; and walk, estimate, design, and project manage larger commercial projects. I interface with vendors, subcontractors, negotiate pricing, shop for our insurance and employee benefits, arrange training for the sales team and the office, determine what product we lead with, resolve customer issues, and develop long-term relationships with our customers and with “finders,” those who can help us obtain new customers through personal relationships.

Q: Why did you register for ESX? This is my third ESX and it is the best show for serious professionals within our industry to attend. It’s educational, motivating, empowering, and interactive — as well as, an event with great networking and learning with peers. It also provides invaluable intel for the business owners and department managers to help navigate our industry.

Q: Did you attend Main Stage and Educational Sessions? If so, what was the biggest take-away you received? Yes, I received motivation, empowerment and a road map to bettering myself and my company.

Q: Did you have any good conversations on the expo floor? Loads of them!

Q: Did you meet anyone interesting that you’d like to keep in touch with? Yes! I met with Brian Lohse of Alarm.com and met Sharon from NMC (a hoot). And perhaps the most fun person of all, I met Mrs. Jon Sargent, who I danced the night away with during the pub crawl. Quite frankly, she out danced me which is really tough to do!

Q: What do you think makes ESX different than other shows you may attend? Everything! To be succinct, it is exclusively from, for, and about our industry — yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Q: What would you say to other professionals like yourself who are considering attending ESX in 2018? You don’t know what you have been missing. Best time and money I have invested in all year.
