My ESX Experience: Mark D’Ascoli

Q: What company do you work for and what is your job title there? I am the sales manager and security operations manager at SMS Integration in North Carolina.

Q: Why did you register for ESX? I registered for ESX for the many networking opportunities with new people, the training sessions — to make sure I am on top of industry trends — and for meeting with vendors at the expo.

Q: Did you attend Main Stage and Educational Sessions? If so, what was the biggest take-away you received? I took away the importance of staying positive, always being aggressive and focusing on the way technology is constantly changing in order to stay ahead.

Q: Did you have any good conversations on the expo floor? Yes, I had some great ones! I sat down with representatives from Honeywell, Elk, Flir, Firelite and Hikvision, just to name a few.

Q: Did you attend with a team or by yourself? I was there with a team.

Q: What do you think makes ESX different than other shows you may attend? A lot of shows don’t have the advanced training that ESX has. I like seeing other business owners on panels, sharing their advice. These are the best people to listen to — they have dealt with a lot of the trial and errors that we deal with every day — and can foresee the questions we, as attendees, have.

Q: What would you say to other professionals like yourself who are considering attending ESX in 2018? ESX is a must. If you love this industry and what it really truly is and has to offer… it’s a no brainer. You have to be there!!
