Under the theme “Key success projects which have improved healthcare through IT”, all European hospitals and healthcare providers are invited to participate in the competition. The aim of the poster competition is for candidates to showcase their successful projects which have proven how healthcare can be improved through IT. The posters will be displayed on the exhibition floor at the CIO Summit and delegates will have the chance to vote for their favourite project.

Keen to share your successful health IT project with top European CIOs? This is your chance: read the rules of submission (below) and send your cover letter before the 7th of September.

RULES FOR SUBMISSION OF WORK

HIMSS is organising a Poster Competition during the HIMSS Europe CIO Summit 2015, which will be held in Valencia (Spain) from 7th to 8th October. The theme of the poster, as the title indicates, should be around key success projects which have demonstrated improvements in healthcare through IT.

  1. To enter the competition, the candidate(s) have to send a cover letter to Inés Burton (iburton@himss.org). The letter should be no longer than one page and should include the following: title of poster, authors and summary. Once the committee has reviewed the cover letter, if successful, the candidate(s) will receive a confirmation email and a poster number and will then officially enter the competition
  2. Recommended poster structure: Introduction, objectives, methodology and conclusions.
  3. Size: Width and Height 0.90m 0.60m. Vertical only, not landscape. (This will be the standard measure for all posters and is not interchangeable)
  4. The composition of the poster can be done freely by the candidate(s). It is recommended that the names of both the title and the author(s) of the poster should appear at the top. The upper left corner should always have the CIO Summit logo (please find it here) and the number of the poster which will be given to the candidate(s)
  5. The poster will have a maximum of four authors, and at least one of them needs to already be registered for the CIO Summit event (register here). Please note that entering this competition does not guarantee a free pass to the event – competition participants should register to the Summit independently
  6. Timeline and deadlines:
  • The cover letter should be sent to iburton@himss.org on or before 7th September 2015
  • HIMSS will send the confirmation letter on 10th September 2015
  • The candidates will submit the final version of the poster to HIMSS on or before 25th September 2015 in the following format:
    - The poster should be delivered as print ready PDF file, with all the images with the minimum resolution of 300 dpi (to avoid any pixelated images)
    - Delivering the poster in TIFF and JPG format is also allowed providing the resolution is always at least 300 dpi

Both the printing of the posters and the cost will be handled by HIMSS Europe.
