2025 Tour Offerings

**NEW**Civic Engagement track:  State Leadership Conference is excited to offer a track focused on a specific program area - it is perfect for someone to explore if civic engagement is their spark! Attendees will spend the tour day in Sacramento visiting the State Capitol, the 3rd District Court of Appeals for California. This is an all day expereince that will go to multiple locations.

California State Railroad Museum: Embark on a captivating journey through California's railway history at the California State Railroad Museum. Step into the 19th century and explore a collection of meticulously restored locomotives, vintage railcars, and captivating exhibits. Learn about the remarkable engineering feats that connected communities and shaped the destiny of the state. Marvel at the iconic "Jupiter" and "No. 119" locomotives that met at Promontory Summit. Step aboard opulent passenger cars and immerse yourself in the grandeur of train travel. Discover fascinating artifacts, interactive displays, and hear captivating stories from knowledgeable guides. UC Davis Bohart Museum of Entomology: Welcome to the Bohart Museum of Entomology at UC Davis, where the fascinating world of insects comes alive. Embark on a captivating tour as you explore a remarkable collection of over eight million insect specimens from across the globe. Marvel at the vibrant butterflies, intricate beetles, and industrious bees and ants on display. Engage in hands-on activities, learn about ongoing research projects, and gain a deeper understanding of the crucial roles insects play in our ecosystems. UC Davis Botanical Conservatory: The Botanical Conservatory conveys the amazing diversity of plant adaptations via a multisensory hands-on tour through the 3,600 sq. ft. greenhouse. Form and function of plants from the world’s deserts, tropical forests, and carnivorous habitats are emphasized, along with plant interactions with insects and other organisms. This tour is only offered in the morning. $10.00

UC Davis Campus: Our friendly student tour guides are ready to introduce you to UC Davis and take you through the central core of the UC Davis campus. Visitors will learn about academic excellence, student services, organizations, clubs, as well as research and internship opportunities at UC Davis. Free

UC Davis Large Animal Veterinary Medicine: Welcome to the UC Davis Large Animal Veterinary Medicine Facilities, where groundbreaking research and compassionate care intersect. Join us on a tour that will take you behind the scenes of one of the most renowned veterinary institutions in the world.Throughout the tour, our knowledgeable guides will share stories and insights, shedding light on the remarkable achievements and challenges faced in large animal veterinary medicine. They will answer your questions and provide a unique perspective on the vital role these facilities play in animal welfare, public health, and the advancement of veterinary science. Free

Underground Tour of Old Sacramento: Come and learn how Sacramento's street and buildings were lifted up out of the floodwaters during the 1860s and 1870s to avoid future floods. This historical tour includes hollow sidewalks, sloped alleyways, and the underground spaces themselves. Bus transportation is included. $36.00
