2019 Outstanding Young Farm Family Contest:
The ideal candidate(s) for this award is an individual, or couple, involved in production agriculture with a majority of their income subject to normal production risks associated with farming. To be considered, the application must be postmarked by Friday, June 14, 2019. Counties will not be limited in the number of applicants they enter for this contest. If we receive more than one application from a county, the judges will choose a county winner. Each county OYFF winner will then be eligible for the district and state competition. Applicants for the Outstanding Young Farm Family contest may not apply for the KFB Farmer of the Year program in the same year. The top three finalist will be announced during the 2019 Summer Outing.
2019 Discussion Meet Contest:
The Discussion Meet preliminary and semifinal rounds will be held on Friday, July 26, 2019, during the Young Farmer Summer Outing in Somerset, Kentucky. The Final Four contestants will be announced the following day during the outing. The final round of the Discussion Meet will be held at the 2019 Kentucky Farm Bureau State Annual Meeting on Friday, December 6th. There can only be ONE Discussion Meet contest entry per county. The registration deadline for the Discussion Meet is Friday, June 14, 2019.
