The annual Mining Indaba is the foremost global gathering for investing in the African mining value chain. The largely interactive and market led programme brings together the leading representatives from the mining investment community, the world's largest mining houses and Government ministries to share insights into how the sector can drive investments and capitalise on the opportunities available to Africa's mining industry.
The programme has been co-ordinated to ensure that each and every delegate can strategically maximise their time at Mining Indaba and take away key information on the industry that cannot be accessed anywhere else.

African Mining Ministerial Forum [AMMF]
Hosted by the African Development Bank, JOGMEC and the World Bank Group, the Ministerial Forum provides a platform for 16 African mining ministers to outline mining opportunities in their respective countries.
This workshop is part of the Mining Indaba Young Leaders Career Development Programme and will take place on Thursday 11 February 2016 from 9am until midday. It is an opportunity for registered students and those graduates participating in the Programme to get a sense of the current market climate and understand what this means for talent development and career opportunities within the sector.
The Country Case Studies were introduced into the Mining Indaba conference agenda in 2015. They present a rare opportunity to participate in a 2-hour interactive, in-depth discussion amongst delegates with a breadth of associated experience, making them a forum to share insight and knowledge of mining opportunities in a specific country.
Investment Discovery Forum [IDF]
An exclusive track for accredited investors and participating mining companies. IDF will run during the afternoons on each day of the conference.
Keynote/Feature Sessions/Corporate Mining Presentations [KFS/CMP]
The main stage agenda is made up of keynote presentations, feature sessions and corporate mining presentations. These will be delivered by a host of distinguished industry professionals and C-level executives. The corporate mining presentations are delivered by the major players active in the African mining corporate space and are an important part of both miners’ and investors Indaba schedules as the speakers focus their presentations on sharing new information, how challenges have been addressed and highlighting investment opportunities. The feature sessions are a series of market themed panel discussions that will focus on the business model for developing exploration, investing in mining associated infrastructure, the future of M&A activity and the requirements of the markets end users.
Mining Thought Leadership Presentations [MTLP]
Mining Thought Leadership presentations include a combination of industry thought leaders, junior mining companies and service providers - with the line-up due to include companies developing ground-breaking technologies and new forms of power to the mine as well as exploration phase juniors, these companies are pushing to become the next wave of corporates shaping the industry in Africa.
Mining Indaba recognises that one of the most critical functions of the conference is to create a platform that allows all those operating in the African mining sector to meet. With this in mind, we have allocated specific chunks of time over the course of the event to allow delegates to set up meetings and take advantage of the opportunity to meet new people and build relationships with critical individuals for the future growth and development of each organization.
There will be 8-10 roundtables running from 11:30 to 13:30 on Tuesday and Wednesday. 40 minutes will be allocated to each discussion before delegates will be asked to rotate to a different table. Attending delegates will ideally participate in three different discussions, exchange business cards with at least 25 individuals and identify key people with whom they can establish further business opportunities.
Non-African Government Presentations [NAG]
The non-African Government presentations will see a variety of topics discussed, from policies for African mining investment, to the ways in which a country plans to strategize its role and position within the African mining value chain. We are pleased to provide a stage for countries across the globe actively seeking to develop relationships and invest in Africa's mining industry.
Pre-Conference Workshops [PCW]
Taking place on Sunday afternoon, the two workshops offer unique opportunities to engage with key strategists that will allow your business to outsmart the current downturn in the mining cycle. Additional purchase is required and should be added at the time of registration.
Special Information Sessions [SIS]
Special information sessions consist of a series of 2-hour interactive discussions that will be led by panels of experts over the course of the conference. They have been coordinated by leading financial and industry specialists. The topics have been carefully selected based on specific case studies of current challenges and key themes within the industry and content has been engineered to ensure relevance for delegates from a variety of disciplines.
A series of 30-minute speed-networking sessions in a designated area on the exhibition floor in association with the main stage commodity panels. Participants will be given two minutes to make introductions/exchange business cards before being asked to rotate.
