The Printer’s Path is a panel discussion to illuminate the
professional paths that printers may take, along with the route of working as a
collaborative printer. The panelists will present examples of how their
training and skills prepared them for various professional challenges in
workshops, in education, in collaborations, in curating, and in maintaining a
business.
ABOUT REMLING
VALPURI

After graduating from Tamarind, Valpuri Remling went back to
Helsinki, Finland and started working at the Academy as a technician for the
printmaking department and as a collaborative printer at Helsinki Litho, a
traditional stone lithography workshop started by two other Tamarind-trained
printers. She quickly took over teaching lithography and other planographic
mediums at the Academy and simultaneously helped develop Helsinki Litho towards
the active professional shop it remains to the date. In 2015 she started as the
new Master Printer at Tamarind Institute.

Brandon Gunn is the Education
Director at Tamarind Institute. Anne Slattery is the Curator at Tamarind
Institute. Candice Malyn Corgan is an MFA Candidate at Syracuse University and
former apprentice printer at Tamarind Institute.
