About the Bears!

Seeing black bears is a fairly commonplace experience in the Tahoe area, and they do visit Granlibakken Resort. A couple of safety reminders:

  • Do not do the following:
    • Leave lodging room windows or doors open unattended.
    • Store food in your room or vehicles.
    • Approach the bear.
    • Run or act aggressively.
  • Be aware of your surroundings esp. around trash receptacles.
  • Stay calm and back away.
  • Never put yourself between a mother bear and her cubs.
  • If one is trying to get in your room, play loud music or make noise and get to a safe location.
