CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

The CPS Annual Conference 2023 is inviting abstract submissions for consideration under three different calls: Call for Research Abstracts, Call for Resident Advocacy Projects, and Call for Clinical Case Reports. A Call for Late-breaking abstracts is also opened in December, as space permits.

Submissions from CPS members and non-members are welcome, and participation is open to health professionals in any field (excluding abstracts submitted by pharmaceutical companies with employees as principal authors and/or co-authors). All abstracts must be submitted online via the appropriate submission site. Accepted abstracts will be eligible for poster display at the annual conference.

Call for Research Abstracts

Deadline: CLOSED

This call is for scientific, clinical and quality improvement abstract submissions with final results. Authors may submit as many abstracts as they wish. All abstracts accepted for presentation will be published in the September 2023 supplement of Paediatrics & Child Health. Abstract submitters may also apply for consideration towards a research award as part of this submission call.

Submissions undergo a blind review by an Abstract Review Committee comprised of experts with wide ranging interests in general and subspecialty paediatrics. Abstracts are judged on research quality, scientific merit and relevance.

A schedule of all abstract presentations will be finalized in March 2023. Poster numbers will be announced in April 2023.

Call for Clinical Cases

Deadline: CLOSED

Humans thrive on stories and even the most obscure clinical pearl can be made memorable if attached to a real event or an actual person. Recognizing this helpful format, CPS invites clinical case submissions for consideration. To reward outstanding case contributions, the presenting author for each of the three top-scoring trainee submissions will receive complimentary registration to the conference as part of the Trainee Award.

Call for Resident Advocacy Projects

Deadline: CLOSED

Are you a local advocate? Or engaged on a project that’s making a difference in your community? This call is meant for you, as it is a great way to share your experience and learnings with paediatricians and other child and youth health professionals from across the country.

Call for Late-breaking Abstracts

Deadline: CLOSED

This call is to allow submission of recent research results which may not have been ready for presentation at the regular submission deadline. Late-breaking abstracts should present data that are high impact, ground breaking, innovative, and newsworthy. This call is not a mechanism to allow updated data to be submitted after the general abstract submission deadline.

Note: This is a limited call and acceptance may depend on space limitations.
