As most of you are aware, Kresge’s Environment program is focused on building climate resilient communities that are grounded in practice, policies and people who are intentionally taking on racial equity as a core part of their process and outcomes. Climate change is making everything worse. It’s hard to turn on the news without seeing the devastation of extreme precipitation, flooding and water affordability issues that exist across the country. But with these challenges, come big opportunities. Our goal with CREWS is to help create urban stormwater systems that are resilient to climate change and provide reliable and equitable services to communities. We aim to help communities better manage, plan and pay for strategies that will prevent and manage flooding, particularly in climate vulnerable communities, low-income communities and communities of color.

We are looking forward to another face-to-face opportunity to share solutions, particularly this year with our convening theme of “Deepening our collective commitment to equity, climate resilience, collaboration, service & impact”.  We are excited to be in the City of Richmond, which offers a great learning lab for our partners to connect, learn and uplift one another as we all work at the intersection of climate change, water and equity. Our agenda will be uploaded shortly!
