HLC is committed to providing the safest and highest quality event experience possible, which will require time-sensitive decisions and action. We are working closely with our hotel and venue partners to ensure proper health and safety measures. A decision about hosting the event in person will be made mid-January. It is for this reason that we ask that all participants hold off on making travel arrangements until the face-to-face modality is confirmed by HLC.

HLC staff welcome teams back for the second cohort meeting and present the goals for the roundtable.

9:15 – 10:00 a.m.
Reflecting on Academy Progress and Student Success Initiatives
Academy Scholars will review where we started with the Data Inventory and present strategies for analyzing the findings from the Initiatives Inventory.

10:15 – 11:45 a.m.
Team Time: Initiatives Templates
Teams will engage in an activity to analyze their portfolio of student success initiatives to determine if their institutions have the right support available to help their students be successful.

11:45 a.m. – Noon
Gallery Walk: Learning from Others
Teams are invited to check out the completed templates from fellow cohort members.

Noon - 1:15 p.m.
Lunch
Available to all attendees.

1:15 – 1:30 p.m.
Analyzing the Initiatives Templates
Academy Scholars introduce methods for analyzing the completed initiatives templates.

1:30 – 2:45 p.m.
Team Time: Interpretation and Gaps
Having completed the initiatives templates exercise, teams will identify patterns and gaps in their student success initiatives portfolio.

3:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Team Time: Planning Next Steps
Teams will consider the work that they have done, what questions still remain, and how they might go about getting the information they need to complete their initiatives inventory.  Teams will also consider what information from this inventory should be shared with their campus and the best means to do so. Each team will have their own private breakout room for conversation.

Institutional Barriers to Student Success
Academy Scholars task teams with considering the institutional policies and practices that may impede student success at their institutions.

9:30 – 10:30 a.m.
Team Time: What is Inhibiting Student Success?
Teams brainstorm current institutional barriers that exist at their institution.

10:45 – 11:45 a.m.
Completing the Infrastructure Inventory
Academy Scholars will present instructions for completing the Infrastructure Inventory. Time will be provided for teams to strategize how to complete, document and analyze the results of the Academy’s third inventory.

Noon - 1:15 p.m.

Available to all attendees.

12:45 – 1:00 p.m.
Student Success Academy: Year 2
Academy Scholars and HLC staff share the next steps in the Student Success Academy.

1:00 – 1:30 p.m.
Developing Your Communication Plan and Student Success Plan
Academy Scholars present strategies for sharing the team’s progress with the wider institution and drafting the Student Success Plan.

1:30 – 2:45 p.m.
Team Time: Planning for Year 2
Teams continue to devise strategies for completing the next inventory and preparing for the second year of the Student Success Academy.
