COVID-19 Statement

Update November 1, 2021: Below are the final requirements for those who will be joining us in person in Dublin, Ireland on November 15-19! As included in the online conference registration form, every precaution is being taken to safeguard the health and safety of all involved. Above all, those choosing to attend in person, do so while understanding the risks and accept personal responsibility to protect their own health and the health of others by following the outlined requirements.

A virtual format of the in-person event is also available for those who prefer to attend online, and the SAC Annual Meeting will be virtual-only on November 10-11. Register here for both events.

The health and safety of participants, convention center staff, the Textile Exchange team, and Dublin residents continue to be our highest priority. The following restrictions and requirements are in place to ensure health, safety, and comfort. All of the following requirements must be adhered to; violators will be asked to leave the venue. These are requirements set by the Government of Ireland. Textile Exchange cannot make exceptions.

  • Limited capacity to ensure proper physical distancing
    • No handshakes or hugs. Every attendee may choose to display their comfort level with a red or yellow ribbon attached to their badge. Red = “6-feet please.” Yellow = “I’m cautious.” We request everyone to be respectful of each other’s comfort levels.
  • Proof of immunity – this must be presented upon entering the Convention Centre Dublin (CCD) for the first time. Your name badge will serve as proof for the remainder of the Conference (required for all events/meetings). If you lose your name badge, you will be required to show proof of immunity and ID again. Negative COVID tests are not accepted. The two forms of proof of immunity, are:
    • Full vaccination
    • Proof of recovery within six months
  • Symptom-free Confirmation – Upon entry to the CCD, you will be asked to verbally confirm that you do not have any COVID symptoms (fever, cough, difficulty breathing, sore throat, etc.). If you have symptoms – do not enter the CCD. If you start having symptoms while inside the CCD, immediately go to Wicklow Meeting Room 5.
  • Face masks must be worn at all times inside the CCD, covering the nose and mouth, except when eating while seated at a table.

Dublin Weather

Ireland in November will have an average of 49°F to 54°F (9.5°C to 12°C). We highly recommend that you carry heavy, warm winter wear to stay warm, comfortable and safe. The weather outdoors can be heavily chilly, especially during the nights, and it is always recommended that you carry warming accessories like scarves, gloves or hats whenever you tread outside.
