CALL FOR ABSTRACTS ARE NOW CLOSED

You are invited to submit an abstract for presentation as a poster at the 2014 Newcastle Anaesthesia Conference (the NAC), being held in Newcastle from the 22-23 August 2014.

Abstract submission is now open and you can make your submissions online. The closing date for submissions is 20 July 2014.

At the time of submitting your abstract the data must not have already appeared in print (it is OK for data to have been accepted for publication). If the research presented was supported by a commercial organization, a statement identifying this support must be submitted.  

Authors should indicate whether ethics approval was received or waived unless the work describes a quality improvement project or innovation.  In addition to research presentations, we encourage the submission of works in progress, descriptions of educational endeavours including evaluation reports, and work describing new ideas or concepts.

Authors presenting posters must attend the meeting and pay the relevant registration fee.

ABSTRACT DETAILS:

The title should be brief, but adequate to clearly identify the nature of the study. The title must be in UPPER CASE.

Authors' names should follow immediately after the title. Authors should appear with Surname, First Name. The name and contact details of the author who will present the abstract, if selected, must appear on the abstract. The name and location(s) where the work was undertaken must also appear.

The body of the abstract should be no more than 350 words. 

The abstract needs to be uploaded as a WORD Document using the following formatting:

  • All writing to be submitted in Calibri.
  • HEADING IN UPPERCASE
  • Authors in 11 Point font. The presenting author to be underlined. Authors should appear with Surname, First Name
  • Affiliations to be listed under the authors and italicised
  • Body of abstract to be in 11 point font and single spacing used.
  • Key references should be included, DO NOT USE styles to insert them, list them in the body of the text.

The abstract should be presented in AMRAD format comprising the following:

  • Background and rationale for the work including a statement of aim/s
  • Description of the methods
  • A summary of the results or key outcomes
  • Discussion and conclusions
