Following on from the success of the inaugural Newcastle Anaesthesia Conference, we have pleasure inviting you to join us in beautiful Newcastle for the second Newcastle Anaesthesia Conference. The theme of this meeting is ‘CPD for the 21^st Century’. We’ll be discussing what a CPD program for the 21^st century might, or should, look like as well as engaging in a little CPD of our own.

We are pleased to announce a range of international and local speakers including Dr. Kerry Gunn of Auckland City Hospital, an expert in blood management particularly in the acute trauma setting, and Dr. Melinda Davis of The University of Calgary, an expert in neuro-anaesthesia with a special interest in anaesthesia after acute stroke.

 Through a variety of formats including plenary and panel sessions, posters, and interactive workshops we will cover the following topics:

• Massive blood loss in the trauma setting
  
• Management of perioperative anaemia
  
• Controversies in fluid management
• Development and maintenance of expertise
• CICO
• Ultrasound for regional anaesthesia
