The Partnership 2013:  Where Faith and Disability Meet

November 1-3, 2013 in Houston, Texas

Sponsorship

Sponsors will forge stronger relationships with people with disabilities and those who serve in disability ministry across the United States.
Partnership 2013 will be fully inclusive as it models a multi-cultural and multi-lingual conference.

Each Sponsor will be showcased before approximately 400 attendees who represent the many facets of disability and Catholic ministry in the United States, including:

Persons with disabilities, their families, friends and care providers

Priests, Deacons, Seminarians and Religious

 Catholic school administrators and educators

Parish catechetical leaders and catechists

Pastoral and social justice ministers

All with a heart for disability ministry

Among attendees will be Church leaders representing fourteen million Catholics with disabilities in the United States, who care deeply about Catholic disability ministry, and who will be creating the future of ministry at the parish, (Arch)diocesan, regional and national levels   Sponsorship enables these engaged and active participants to gather, learn and focus on strategic initiatives.

Presentations will be offered in English and Spanish, with interpreting available for the Deaf and audio-description for individuals who are blind or visually impaired.  Attendees will participate in learning sessions on a variety of topics, including:  bioethics, mental illnessevangelization, autism, developmental disabilities, Deaf/hard of hearing, inclusion in Catholic schools, sacramental preparation, family support in a multicultural environment and more.

Nationally recognized speakers will address the attendees.  A banquet Saturday evening includes a presentation by Daniel Cardinal DiNardo, NCPD’s Episcopal Moderator and Archbishop of Galveston-Houston.

Representatives from 67 (Arch)dioceses and over 400 parishes, reported in a recent NCPD survey, that materials from Catholic publishers’ basal series are commonly being adapted for use with persons with disabilities in parish catechetical programs.  Partnership 2013 is an excellent opportunity to feature materials which support this specialized ministry.  The more multi-sensory, multi-lingual, the better.
