Welcome Reception

Tickets: $40 per person, or complimentary if attending under the Full Congress  registration package




The Welcome Reception is a great opportunity to network with colleagues, meet new people and relax after the first day of the Congress.

The Welcome Reception will commence at 5.15pm at the Lismore City Hall which located a short walk from the Congress venue.


Tickets include arrival drinks and canapés from 5.15pm until 6.45pm at Lismore City Hall, located 500m from the Congress venue. Please CLICK HERE for directions.

Thursday Breakfast

The Emerging Research Showcase breakfast will include current candidates and recent graduates of the Rural Research Capacity Building Program presenting the findings from their research projects, and some insights into the role of their research experience in their professional development as researchers and clinicians.

The Rural Research Capacity Building Program aims to increase the number of rural and remote health workers with knowledge and skills in evaluation and research methods by supporting candidates from across rural local health districts to undertake a formal research project over a two-year period.

The Showcase program will consist of three presentations including:

  • Tracy Bolton: ‘But that’s their Job’: Exploring the experiences of workplace stress and support for non-clinical staff in front line roles in rural public health services.
  • Louise Harper: Late Miscarriage and stillbirth – why should we care?
  • Sarah Buckley: 'Advance care planning for COPD patients, understanding the challenges’

Congress Dinner

Theme and Dress Code: Colours of the Rainbow / Smart Casual

Tickets: $80 per person, or complimentary if attending under the Full Congress registration package




The 8th Rural Health & Research Congress Dinner will be hosted at the City Hall Lismore and the theme for the evening is "Colours of the Rainbow". The Northern NSW region is often referred to as the Rainbow Region known for its stunning natural beauty, and its cultural diversity and inclusiveness

The Congress Dinner tickets are $80.00 per person and include canapés on arrival, main course and dessert from 7.00pm.

Alcoholic beverages can be purchased throughout the evening using card or cash.
