M2M Forum® 2012

Carnegie Mellon University Site Tour & Research Overview

Tuesday, May 8, 2012

M2M Forum kicks off with an afternoon site visit to Carnegie Mellon University where attendees will have the opportunity to tour CMU MEMS research labs and interact with professors and graduate students. The event kicks off with an introduction by Karen Lightman, managing director, MEMS Industry Group and Maarten de Boer, Associate Professor, Mechanical Engineering followed by an overview of MEMS activities at CMU by Gary Fedder, Howard M. Wilkoff Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Professor of The Robotics Institute, and Director of the Institute for Complex Engineered Systems (ICES).

Attendees will then have the opportunity to see the research up close in areas including microfluidics, tip-based nanofabrication, micro/Nanofabrication, MEMS test, SEM, TEM, X-ray, AFM, micro-CT, Electrical characterization, Neural probes, Soft robotics, Multi-scale manufacturing, Micro/nanorobotics, and AlN MEMS. The site visit will conclude with networking and snacks.
