BIKE TRANSPORTION METHODS
- FLEX participants and those not located near a Chapter Office should anticipate using Pack & Ship
- Most other chapters will utilize Bike Trucking
- Exceptions will apply and be communicated after final bike numbers are submitted.
Pack & Ship entails partially disassembling your bike by removing the pedals, seat and seatpost, handlebars and front wheel. Then the bike is packaged and shipped via UPS/FedEx to the event; you may package your bike yourself or have your local bike shop provide that service for you. Participants should be aware that if they ask a bike shop to perform this service for them they may be charged a non-reimbursable fee ($50 - $100 each way) for the cardboard box and disassembly. The bike transport company will send you shipping labels and once packaged, you can drop your bike off at any UPS location or schedule a UPS/FedEx pick up. At the event, bikes will be assembled by a RaceDay Transportation mechanic who will have their bike ready and waiting for you. Upon conclusion of the event, your bike will be disassembled by a RaceDay Mechanic, packed and shipped back to you via UPS/FedEx.

Bike Trucking entails picking up your fully-assembled bike from a designated location (usually the chapter office) and transporting via a cargo truck. Bikes will be returned in the same way to your designated location.
Bike Rental In lieu of shipping your bike you may choose to use one of RaceDay Transportation's Road or Triathlon rental bikes for the event weekend. (Since you won’t be shipping a bike with this option, TNT will cover the cost of the bike rental. For information about bike rentals please visit this site. Race Day provides Road and Triathlon bikes at this event, the exact make/models cannot be guaranteed.
Please note:
- All Triathlon bikes are equipped with aero bars.
- If you opt to reserve a rental with RDT, athletes need to bring their helmets, shoes, and pedals.
- If the loaner bikes comes equipped with clip-in pedals and you prefer to ride in tennis shoes, RDT offers flat pedals with toe straps free for Team-in-Training athletes.
