2019 Cities United

On behalf of the Cities United advisory board and leadership team, we invite you to participate in the 6th Annual Cities United Convening hosted by Mayor Donnie Tuck and the City of Hampton. This important event is made possible by the generous support from Casey Family Programs, the Campaign for Black Male Achievement, the William R. Kenan Jr. Charitable Trust, the Langeloth Foundation and other local and national partners.

Our 6th Annual Convening will provide opportunities to build relationships and explore solutions with other cities committed to creating communities that are safe, healthy and hopeful for young Black men and boys and their families.

This year marks the 400-year remembrance of the arrival of the first Africans in British North America. We will gather to reflect on the trials and triumphs of our past, renew ourselves and each other in the present and equip our communities to respond to the future. Mayor Donnie Tuck invites you to stay in Hampton the weekend following the convening to join in the official commemoration activities hosted by the City and the Commonwealth of Virginia. If you would like to extend your stay in the convening hotel, please note that during registration.

We encourage mayors to assemble teams that include their local Cities United representative, a youth delegate, a community or faith leader, a public safety representative and a representative from a local foundation.

Each person planning to attend must register by Thursday, August 1, 2019 by clicking on the NEW REGISTRATION button above. There is no registration fee; however, all participants must register.

We look forward to you and your team joining us in Hampton as the journey continues down the road to 2025 and toward creating communities where our young Black men and boys are safe, healthy and hopeful.
