ISSTDR Fellowships
The ISSTDR is delighted to announce that up to 3 ISSTDR Fellowships will be awarded for the 2015 Congress. Recipients will be outstanding early career researchers, typically advanced in their PhD candidature or within five years of receiving their PhD (or equivalent). Through their CV, applicants will need to demonstrate a strong upward trajectory in their research careers; including first-authorship of major publications and gaining of research funding.
Application: VIA the Congress website, through abstract submission process. The successful recipient(s) MUST have an abstract accepted for an oral presentation at the Congress.
Award: A Fellowship certificate will be presented in the closing session of the Congress. The recipient will receive $4000 to support their attendance at the Congress ($1500 if from Australia or NZ) and their registration paid.
BASHH (Ison) Fellowship
The recipient(s) will be an outstanding early career research microbiologist or clinical trainee with a microbiology abstract.
Application: The successful recepient(s) MUST be a BASHH member of non-consultant grade and MUST have an oral abstract accepted for presentation at the Congress. Via the BASSH website.
Award: A Fellowship certificate will be presented in the closing session of the Congress. The recipient will receive complimentary registration to the Congress plus £2000 to support their attendance at the Congress ($1500 if from Australia or NZ).
World STI & HIV Congress Scholarships
These awards will be made to PhD candidates and clinical trainees who have an oral abstract accepted for the Congress. Numbers will depend on availability of funds and sponsors’ requirements, but scholarships will be awarded in order of merit. Applicants will be required to produce evidence of their student enrolment or clinical trainee status. Factors that will be taken into account will include:
1. Abstract score
2. Studying or training in a low- or middle-income country (but not exclusively)
3. Quotas and qualities required by sponsors.

Award: The recipients will receive complimentary registration (valued at circa $1,000) and a fixed grant of up to $2000 to support their travel and accommodation expenses for the Congress, ie:
