Workshop on Wheels Tours

Attendees will visit farms and businesses across San Diego County to explore agritourism operations, including best practices, opportunities, and industry challenges. All tours will depart from and return to the Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch. Transportation to each farm will be provided by bus, attendees should park at the Flower Fields parking lots.

Wallace Ranch Dragon Fruit Farm

The Wallace Ranch Dragon Fruit Farm is 100% certified organic dragon fruit farm that sits on over 5 acres of land. Located in San Diego, they have been growing dragon fruits since 2013. With over 5,000 plants on the ground and over 20 varieties, they are your reliable source for dragon fruit cuttings that you want to plant at home.

Beach House Winery

Located in Oceanside, Beach House Winery is the first vineyard and winery in the agricultural community of South Morro Hills. Founded by George and Kim Murray in 2010, their passion for winemaking began in 1998 as a hobby shared with friends at their beach house—just blocks from Oceanside’s beautiful coastline. Today, their hilltop vineyard, “Vigna al Mare” (Vineyard at the Sea), offers stunning panoramic views of North County and the Pacific Ocean, along with award-winning wines made from both estate and sourced grapes. With over 30 years of combined winemaking experience, George and Kim invite you to visit the winery, sip exceptional wines, and enjoy the breathtaking scenery that makes their slice of Oceanside so special. Attendees will enjoy lunch at the beautiful Beach House Winery and have the opportunity to taste select Beach House wines.

Carlsbad State Street Farmers Market

The Carlsbad State Street Farmers Market is a vibrant open-air market located in downtown Carlsbad Village, California. It operates every Wednesday, offering a variety of fresh, locally sourced products. Carlsbad Village is the heart and soul of Carlsbad, California, just 40 minutes north of San Diego. Influenced by historic roots, proximity to beautiful beaches, and an unbeatable climate, the Village is a favorite destination of locals and tourists alike. East County Tour Stops:

Vegetable Shop at Chino Family Farm

For a farmers' market experience without the wait, The Vegetable Shop at Chino Family Farm in Rancho Santa Fe is a must-visit. Open every day except Monday, this legendary stand offers an ever-changing selection of vibrant, seasonal produce—everything from French strawberries and sweet white corn to rare finds like strawberry figs, red carrots, and candy lime mint. Beloved by top chefs and locals alike, the shop has earned a cult following thanks to its unmatched quality, all grown on the family’s 45-acre farm since the 1940s. San Pasqual Valley Soils

San Pasqual Valley Soils developed as an on-site compost producer for the family-owned Frank Konyn Dairy, the last remaining diary in San Diego County, creating an environmentally and economically beneficial enterprise. Nestled in the scenic San Pasqual Valley Agricultural Preserve, this unique facility produces premium compost, soil amendments, and mulches trusted by many of San Diego County’s organic farmers. At this stop, participants will learn about San Pasqual Valley Soils unique partnerships, income diversification strategies, and educational offerings.

Dragon Delights

For a one-of-a-kind farm experience, visit Kevin and Betsy’s organic dragon fruit farm in Ramona, where passion meets curiosity in a stunning microclimate perfect for this vibrant crop. Originally from Australia, the couple brought their farming know-how to San Diego County in 2000 and have spent nearly a decade growing dragon fruit organically. A visit to their farm is more than just a chance to taste this exotic, nutrient-rich fruit—you’ll get to see how it’s grown, learn about its stunning flowers and fascinating propagation process, and immerse yourself in the sights, smells, and flavors of the land. Guests can also enjoy interacting with friendly llamas and sheep, and explore a bit of Australia through the farm’s collection of native flora. Whether you’re a foodie, plant lover, or just curious, this is a deliciously fun and educational stop you won’t want to miss.
