Entry Visa Information
It is the responsibility of delegates to determine their visa requirements and apply accordingly. For up-to-date visa information, please consult the Rwanda Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration website. We strongly advise making your application as early as possible.

Transportation
Taxi transport in Rwanda is generally safe. By law, all taxis are required to have functioning taximeters. You can also use larger taxi services such as Yego Taxi or Move, which allow you to order a ride by phone. See the contact numbers below.

Buses of various standards, including air-conditioned long-distance buses, depart from Nyabugogo Bus Station (https://goo.gl/maps/ygGWwDxqCY62) to all parts of the country.

Navigation apps, such as Google Maps, work well in the country. It can be useful to download maps offline.

Climate and Weather
Rwanda has a tropical climate with two rainy seasons: February to June and September to December. Kigali's average high temperature in August is around 27°C (81°F), while the average low is around 15°C (59°F). It is generally warm with occasional rain.

Electricity
Rwanda uses type “C” and “J” plugs with two round pins, and the standard voltage is 230 V at 50 Hz.

Timezone
Rwanda operates on Central Africa Time (CAT), which is GMT+2.

Currency
The official currency in Rwanda is the Rwandan Franc (RWF). Currency can be exchanged at banks and exchange bureaus. It's also possible to withdraw cash from ATMs using major credit cards. Check the exchange rate before your trip.
