Carly is a history graduate with a wealth of experience in the local authority and further education sector. Amongst Carly’s many professional qualifications are a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic counselling, Level 4 Preparing to Teach in life long sector, Level 3 in leadership and management, level 4 working with parents (intense support for families with multiple and complex needs), and mental health first aid (adults and CYP). In Carly’s professional career, she has been responsible for delivering safeguarding training to the local authority, and has supported educational settings with improving their safeguarding policy, procedures and practice.

Most of her professional career has been spent working in front line services with children and families with multiple and complex needs in an Early help and targeted capacity within a local authority setting. Carly has also spent time as a designated teacher for children in care at an FE college in Hertfordshire, supporting on the pastoral and educational attainments of children in care across a range of vocational courses and apprenticeships/traineeships.

As well as Carly’s expertise in local authority and further education, she is passionate about mental health and volunteers as a person-centred counsellor working with both adults and adolescents for Mind in Mid Herts.
