The 2024 Annual Conference of the Canadian Society for the Advancement of Gynecologic Excellence Scientific Program Committee (SPC) invites submissions of abstracts and videos for presentations that are of significant interest to advanced gynecologic surgical practice, education, and research.

Acceptance will be based upon peer review of submitted videos and research abstracts.

Presenters will have an opportunity to exchange ideas with delegates and to discuss their work in detail during moderated abstract sessions.

Presentation categories and formats: In addition to invited talks, the conference will feature three types of presentations:
 

Oral

► Research presentation with traditional PowerPoint slides.

► Time: maximum 7 minutes, with 3 minutes Q+A.

► Abstracts not selected for oral poster presentation may be redirected for consideration as an ePoster with permission of the submitting author.

E-Poster

If selected but not able to present, can be featured on CanSAGE MultiLearning ePoster library.

Video

► Video presentation hosted on the CanSAGE Video site.

► Time: maximum 7 minutes, with 3 minutes Q+A.

► Top videos will be presented during the conference.

► If selected but not able to present, can be featured on CanSAGE online Video library.

 

Top presentations from each category will be selected by the scientific committee and conference attendees will vote for “people’s choice award” during the conference.

Who should submit an abstract or video? 

Presentations from all interested parties are welcome. These include:
 

► Physicians

► Allied healthcare professionals

► Scientists

► Clinical trainees, including fellows, residents, and medical students

► Research trainees, including undergraduates, graduate students, and post-docs

Assets

Preference will be given to submissions that: 

► Have high relevance to gynecologic surgical practice, education, or research

► Showcase surgical techniques or processes that can be adopted by other surgeons or institutions

► Surgical technique (Laparoscopy, Hysteroscopy, Vaginal surgery)

► Fibroids

► Endometriosis / Adenomyosis

► Pelvic Pain

► Fertility

► Abnormal uterine bleeding

► Urogynecology

► Gyne oncology

RESEARCH ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES 

 

► An online submission must be received for each abstract

► More than one abstract may be submitted per author

► Abstracts must be submitted in English

► The abstract must not exceed 250 words

► CanSAGE will consider all abstracts, except those that have been presented at a previous CanSAGE.

Note:  In order for your abstract to be included in the final program, you must have paid your registration by June 30, 2024.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUBMIT YOUR RESEARCH 

 

► COI disclosure: Declaration of conflict of interest(s) for the presenting author with respect to industry funding - online disclosure form

► Submission Title: Clearly describes content of your research presentation

► Abstract Text: 250 words maximum

► Objectives: states the study purpose in a concise manner

► Methods: indicates the location, study design, sample size, participants, test or intervention, and type of statistical analysis if appropriate.

► Results: findings from described methods to confirm or refute the hypothesis (no graphs or tables)

► Conclusion: states the effect of the study on patient management, clinical education, or research within the field.

► Author approvals

► Confirmation of attendance. You will also be asked to:

» select your presentation preference;

» select a subject category that best suits your submission;
» grant permission to host/publish your ePoster on the CanSAGE MultiLearning ePoster library.

Note: You will be able to log in and edit your submission until noon (ET) on May 13, 2024.

VIDEO SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

 

► An online submission must be received for each video abstract

► More than one video may be submitted per author

► All video presentations must be edited and narrated on the audio track in English

► The video summary must not exceed 150 words

► CanSAGE will consider all videos, except those that have been presented at a previous CanSAGE

► Hospital protocol for video recording with patient consent must have been followed

► Productions must be no longer than 7 minutes in duration and include titles and a spoken narrative

► The video file size cannot exceed 750 MB and must play in one of the following video players: Window Media Player, Real Player, or Quick Time Player

► The video cannot be promotional or commercial in nature.

Note: In order for your video to be included in the final program, you must have paid your registration by June 30, 2024.

► You will also be asked to:

» select a subject category that best suits your submission;
» grant permission to host/publish your video on the CanSAGE Video Library.

► Make sure your video filename = presenting author name_keyword, e.g., Randle_cerclage

► Include a link to your video via Youtube, Vimeo, or Google Drive (please make sure no log-in is necessary). Paste the link URL into the submission form.

Note: You will be able to log in and edit your submission until noon (ET) on May 13, 2024.

Presenting authors must register and attend the conference in person.
