186 participants from 10 countries attended the ISHS 8th International Symposium on Almond and Pistachio. The latest California and international research was presented by covering a wide range of topics including rootstocks and scion breeding and propagation, pollination and fruit set, carbohydrate and salinity physiology, irrigation, tree training and pruning, tree nutrition, integrated pest, disease and orchard floor management, harvesting, transport, processing and marketing. This every-fourth-year gathering offered person-to-person contact with the world's major pistachio and almond scientists and industries.
Registration included participation in Wednesday's grower day.
