APAGBI 2020 CONFERENCE – POSTPONED UNTIL 2021

COVID-19 update 16.03.20

As a result of the inexorable progression of the COVID-19 pandemic it is with great regret that APA Council has concluded that we should postpone the 2020 Annual Scientific Meeting planned for May in London.  We are currently seeking a solution with our venue to rearrange this meeting to an alternative date once the pandemic has passed and I hope to be able to confirm that within the next few weeks.  Please be assured that we are committed to ensuring that a rearranged London meeting comes to fruition.

Our conference organisers will be in contact with all those registered thus far for the London meeting to arrange a full refund of monies paid.  Please can I urge a little patience in this regard as they are facilitators for a number of now cancelled conferences and there is a large number of delegates to work through.

The Annual General Meeting scheduled for Thursday 14th May is also postponed.  We will prepare an Annual Report and post this and the Annual accounts on the website in the usual way and once we have clarity on dates we will update you all on the revised AGM date.

The Royal College of Anaesthetists, Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine, the Intensive Care Society and Association of Anaesthetists have launched a one-stop hub for information on COVID-19, this can be found from the Homepage of the RCoA website or by using this direct url: https://icmanaesthesiacovid-19.org

As the situation evolves we will continue to post links to the very best information here.

In the meantime might I wish you all the very best for the next weeks and possibly months, please stay safe and look after yourselves and your colleagues as we all seek to manage the patients in our care.
