The natural beauty and wonder of the Adirondack Mountains are not to be missed during your visit to New York. As the largest protected area in the contiguous United States, the millions of acres of protected land have thousands of hiking trails, waterways, and adventures for four seasons of visitors.
Your Adirondack adventure will include a stop in the small mountain town of Blue Mountain Lake to explore the interactive Adirondack Experience, showcasing the dynamic history of the region and the relationship between people and the Adirondack wilderness. Your visit will allow time to explore the hands-on indoor exhibits, and the expansive grounds that include an Adirondack Fire Tower, lean-to, pond, and beautiful perennial gardens.
Your next stop will be to the historic Olympic town of Lake Placid. Your day will include fresh mountain air and beautiful views as you stroll the quaint downtown village. Locally loved and locally owned shops and restaurants will find fun for anyone. If you are looking to venture out of town, a quick Uber or Lyft will take you to any of the Lake Placid Legacy Sites where you can see where Olympic history was made. There are unique experiences at each site, such as zip-lining parallel to the ski jumps, taking a ride on the Cliffside Coaster circling around the bobsled track, or one of the many other summer opportunities.
