Working Groups are exclusive forums that convene regularly in order to allow members to share best practice, conduct analysis, and develop consolidated positions on economic, safety and environmental issues. Several Groups act as the interface for industry at standard and policy-setting organisations, such as the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the International Commission for Radiological Protection (ICRP) and the Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) of the OECD. Each Group is chaired by an expert from a member company, and has a mentor assigned to it from the Board. Administrative and technical support is provided by the Secretariat.
Due to the new travel restrictions to the UK brought about by the arrival of the Omicron variant, we have reluctantly taken the decision not to hold physical meetings in January in London. The meetings will still be held, but in full virtual mode.
Staff Directors for Working Groups are consulting with their Chairs regarding the new format for the January meetings. In most cases, it is expected that the dates of Working Group meetings will remain the same, however, the duration may be shortened for certain sessions.
Any members that have registered for the meetings in January will be informed of changes to the format and schedule by the relevant Staff Director.
