Oral Presentations
All oral sessions will be equipped with an LCD projector connected to an input switch box, screen, lavaliere microphone, and pointer. Please plan to use your own laptop with your presentation formatted to a 16:9 aspect ratio and screen resolution set to a maximum of 1080 x 720.
HDMI/VGA cables will be provided to connect your laptop to the input switch box provided. Apple users must bring the necessary converters/cords.
Presenters should plan to arrive 15 minutes before the start of the session in which they are presenting, to allow time to connect laptops and check their slides before the start of the session.
Any time used by a speaker to set up laptops during the session is deducted from the time allocated for that speaker’s talk.
Plenary talks will be 45 minutes plus 15 minutes for discussion and questions.
Invited talks will be 25 minutes plus 5 minutes for discussion and questions.
Contributed talks will be 12 minutes plus 3 minutes for discussion and questions.
The session chairs have been asked to strictly adhere to the schedule to maintain synchronization between the parallel sessions.
Please remember that this is a time to communicate the science of your work to your audience. The person in the last row came to hear what you have to say and see what you have to show. Slides should be designed to be readable from anywhere in the room; fonts smaller than 14 point may be difficult to see. Proper use of the microphone is important as well. If audience questions are not heard please repeat the question using the microphones provided.
