
Simon is the CEO and Founder of Southern Cross Coaching & Development, a leading a continually growing team of over 30 consultants, coaches and trainers and staff.
Awarded as the International Coach Federation Australia Coach of the Year in 2013, Simon has over 30 years experience in brain-based leadership, coaching and consulting. He has an extremely wide range of organisational development, team and leadership development, change management, cultural change and executive coaching and consulting expertise spanning the private, public and not-for-profit sectors and has been keynote speaker and conference chairperson at national and international conferences.
Simon started his career serving 10 years as a Commissioned Officer in the British Royal Air Force controlling air-defense fighter aircraft, including 2 tours of duty working with the SAS and CIA in operational anti-heroin trafficking operations in Central America and 2 operational tours in the Falkland Islands. Other experience incorporates national leadership roles in corporate HR and Coaching and Consulting businesses and work and travel through over 40 different countries, including living in the Philippines and Borneo for over 2 years running his own underwater videography, SCUBA-diving and marine research business.
Personally, Simon has had to deal with and overcome many challenges including managing to recover fully from being suicidally depressed in 2002/3 and dealing with degenerative Ankolysing Spondyaloarthritis over the past 5+ years. He is married with 2 kids, Zac and Zara aged 7 and 5 respectively, he loves SCUBA Diving, red wine, real ale and camping - preferably all together!
