Queenstown Self Guided Garden Loop walk
A lovely loop in the Queenstown garden on the shore of Lake Wakatipu. This is a short walk directly accessible from Queenstown. It offers lovely views on the clear lake and the mountains around the city as well as a wide array of plant species. This is a 1.9km loop trail and takes an average of 25 minutes to complete.
TSS Earnslaw Cruise & Gourmet BBQ Lunch at Walter Peak Farm
Steeped in Queenstown’s pioneering history, your experience starts with a Lake Wakatipu cruise in the 106 year old steamship, the TSS Earnslaw. Then disembark at Walter Peak High Country Farm, one of the first farms set up in the region.
Relaxing in the charming ambience of the Colonel’s Homestead Restaurant, the heart of the stately homestead at Walter Peak, you’ll enjoy gourmet dining prepared by our chef in front of you.
You'll have plenty to choose from on our seasonal menu-crisp salads, fresh vegetables and succulent meats, prepared on our open grill. Then finish your meal by trying to choose which mouth-watering desserts to try - or don't choose and have them all!
An entertaining and informative demonstration gives you a glimpse of life in the high country.
Board the TSS Earnslaw again for a gentle cruise back to town where you can chooe to join in our traditional sing-aloong by the piano.

ITINERARY
- Please note: The Garden Loop walk will occur in the morning, departing from the Hotel, prior to meeting at Steamer Wharf for TSS Earnslaw Cruise and Walter Peak Lunch. All booked guests will be advised of the meeting place and departure for walk via email closer to the date.
- 12.35pm check in for the TSS Earnslaw (20 minutes prior to departure), at Steamer Wharf, Queenstown
- 12.45 Board TSS Earnslaw
- 1.00pm Depart from Queenstown
- 1.45pm arrive Walter Peak
- 1.50pm Gourmet BBQ lunch served in Colonel’s Homestead Restaurant
- 3.30pm Working Dog Demonstration
- 4.15pm Depart Walter Peak on TSS Earnslaw
- 4.45pm arrive back at Steamer Wharf, Queenstown
- Depart for your hotel by own means
