Criteria for Corporate Participation

  • Chief Executives and contact persons of active participating Global Compact companies are invited to attend the Leaders Summit
  • In order to request invitations for additional representatives, each person is asked to submit an invitation request form. It is recommended that no more than 5 participants per company register to allow for maximum geographic representation. Please refer to Criteria for Participation below for further details.
  • As it is widely recognized that women's empowerment is a key driver of sustainable development, organizations are strongly encouraged to strive for gender-balance when nominating representatives. We are proud that the Women's Empowerment Principles is currently the UN Global Compact's largest special initiative with 600 CEO signers.

Representatives from other stakeholder groups, including civil society and labour organizations, business associations, academic institutions, Government and the United Nations, will be invited by the UN Global Compact directly. See below for further details.

Criteria for UN and Civil Society Participation

UN Agencies, Funds and Programmes and global civil society organizations (CSOs) with a long-standing working relationship with the Global Compact will be invited to participate in the Leaders Summit 2016. These participants include representatives from the organizations participating in Global Compact working groups, initiatives and platforms.

Government Participation

The UN Global Compact encourages governments to actively participate in, promote, and support the Leaders Summit. Governments are invited to attend the Summit, and each UN Member State will receive invitations.

Criteria for Local Network Participation

The UN Global Compact will invite all Local Networks. Complimentary registration applies to one participant per Local Network Secretariat, regardless of organizational structure. Please contact the Global Compact Local Network team for further information.

All Summit participants are required to pay a registration fee. The fees, listed below, cover the cost of the entire Leaders Summit, whether you attend one session, or all three. There is a separate fee to attend the Leaders Dinner. For more information on the Leaders Summit, please click here.

Global Compact signatories who have contributed to the Foundation for the Global Compact will receive a 50% discount on their Leaders Summit registration fee. Please visit the Foundation for the Global Compact website for more information about how to make your annual contribution.
