Nick works with Financial Planners and wealth managers to develop their understanding of investment companies. Prior to joining the AIC he worked for seven years as a financial journalist, researching and writing about investment companies and VCTs. This culminated in a three-year stint as editor of What Investment magazine. He graduated from Cambridge University.

Prior to Charles Russell Speechlys, Alison was formerly Head of Private Client at Speechly Bircham, Divisional Director and Head of Tax & Trusts at St. James's Place and Financial Planning Manager at AXA Sun Life. She’s a member of STEP, a Taxation Technician and holds the ACII qualification. Alison's practice focuses on estate and succession planning for HNW clients.

He sits on the IFP board and chairs the Ethics & Practice Standards Committee. Brook‐Dobson Brear was established eight years ago, nominated as an NMA firm of the year in the North in its second year and won it in its third.
Marcus Brookes

Marcus is head of the Multi-Manager Diversity team at Schroders who manage more than £3bn of client’s assets. He is regularly seen in print and on screen giving his views on the importance of asset allocation when selecting funds. Marcus graduated from the University of Stirling with an MSc in Investment Analysis and has over 20 years of investment experience.

Chris established Ovation Finance Ltd in 2000, logging and charging time from the outset. Ovation provides Financial Planning based around helping clients understand themselves. By asking questions such as "How much is enough?” clients leave meetings better informed to make decisions about their lives. Chris passed his diploma in business coaching in 2010. Ovation uses many of these coaching techniques.

She has over 20 years’ experience in financial services, having started her career in Lloyds Bank, before moving on to Towry as an financial adviser, and then joining Clerical Medical, first as broker consultant, and then moving to the investment specialist team within a technical and training capacity.

Neil and his team have responsibility for developing and increasing Vanguard’s UK distribution through advisers, wealth managers and other key business partners. Neil joined Vanguard from Standard Life where he was a member of the UK Distribution Board. He has a broad experience of distribution in both the advisory sector and the Bank & Wealth Manager sector and has held senior management roles in both areas.
Greg Davies
Head of Behavioural-Quantitative Finance
Greg joined Barclays in 2006 to build the financial world’s first behavioural finance team, dedicated to helping people make better financial decisions. He is an Associate Fellow at Oxford’s Saïd Business School and lecturer at Imperial College. His book, Behavioural Investment Management, was published in 2012. He holds an MPhil (Economics) and a PhD in Behavioural Decision Theory from Cambridge University.
Fraser Doherty MBE
Fraser started SuperJam in Scotland at the age of fourteen, using his Grandmother's recipes. Since then, his brand of 100% fruit jam has grown into a company that supplies over 1,000 supermarkets around the world.
Richard Goodall
Richard Goodall has a proven track record of helping retail and institutional distributor businesses deliver change through technology. He is responsible for leading Parmenion's marketing and sales strategy. A well-respected industry figure with previous board appointments at Ascentric and 1st Software/IRESS, Richard was also most recently, Managing Director of UK Business Transition at SEI, a global provider of institutional and private client wealth management solutions.

Bob Gordon is Standard Life’s Pensions Consultancy Manager. Since 1987, Bob has worked with DB, SSASs, SIPPs and spent seven years as trustee of a large DB scheme. His current focus is on engaging policymakers to influence pension policy, and articulating issues and opportunities from legislative change. Bob’s goal is to help Financial Planners tailor solutions to their clients’ pension needs.
Steve Groves
Steve joined Partnership in 2005 as Chief Financial Officer, becoming Managing Director in 2006. He previously led the actuarial team at Swiss Re’s Admin Re startup. Most of Steve’s career has been spent working on financial solutions for people in retirement. Steve was previously a director of ERC, the equity release trade body and was a founder member of the Institute of Actuaries working party on equity release.

Mike is a Fellow of the IFP, a CFPCM professional and a Chartered Financial Planner. He works with Investment for Life, a firm which provides an ongoing, comprehensive Financial Planning service for a select number of clients. Mike was amongst the first group of IFP members to gain CFPCM certification in the UK and was in the first cohort to be granted the Fellowship.

Philippa has specialised in financial services law for almost a decade. Much to her team's delight she insists that they all take the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning. She has not made an exception for herself. She acts for both those who give and receive advice.

Andrew joined the BlackRock Multi-Asset Strategies team in 2013 as a Portfolio Strategist. Prior to moving to BlackRock, he was a research analyst with the Merrill Lynch Global Chief Investment Office where his focus was on multi-asset portfolio construction and risk management. Andrew graduated from the Smurfit Business School, University College Dublin, where his Master’s degree thesis was on the topic of active versus passive investing.

Michael Langerup joined ETF Securities in 2009 to focus on product strategy. Prior to ETF Securities, Michael worked for Saxo Bank, as a research analyst for the bank’s two internal hedge funds. Michael earned his BSc and MSc from Copenhagen Business School in Finance and Accounting and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University.

Murray is chair of the IFP Leeds Branch. He’s also a director of his own Financial Planning firm Flowers McEwan, where Philanthropy is a key area of expertise. He has been providing fee-based holistic Financial Planning since late 90s and joined IFP in 1999. Prior to that he worked as an IFA and an adviser for Friends Provident.

Regular speaker at IFP and UBS conferences and maintains an ongoing dialogue with the FCA to improve their understanding of PI for advisory firms and push for reforms for the benefit of firms.

Rory worked in the industry for around 20 years prior to joining the regulator in 2006, and has Chartered Financial Planner status. He has been involved with high profile projects such as pension switching, structured products, platforms and intermediaries, risk profiling, centralised investment propositions, mystery shopping in banks, RDR implementation, RDR adviser charges and services, non-advised/simplified advice and due diligence on products and services.
