Ralph Beisel
CEO, ADV (Association German Airports)
 
Ralph Beisel is the Managing Director of the German Airport Association, the ADV. He completed his studies in Business Administration at the European Partnership of Business Schools in Reutlingen (Germany), Nancy (France) and in London (UK).

Ralph Beisel worked as a management consultant in the travel & transportation sector with a particular focus on the aviation industry for more than 13 years. As a partner at Arthur D. Little, he was in charge of the Aviation Competence Centre Europe. He worked on over 120 projects for airlines, air traffic control organizations and airports. Most assignments were about developing and implementing strategies for generating profitable growth, realigning organizations and about business restructuring and development.

Ralph Beisel then moved to Thomas Cook AG, where he became the Director of International Hotel Procurement in 2006 and was responsible, for example, for the management of incoming agencies in destination regions.

Since the beginning of 2007, Ralph  Beisel has been Managing Director of the ADV, which is headquarters in Berlin, Germany. The industry expert has also released numerous publications on aviation and cost management.
 
 
Pierre Yves Benin
e-Aircraft Portfolio Head, SITA ONAIR

Pierre-Yves holds a master degree in Telecommunications & IT engineering and an MBA. He accumulated over 20 years international experience in air transport IT & Communications in various management position from strategic technical development, product management, business development, program management and innovation.

Pierre-Yves strongly believes that aviation is under-utilizing its digital capital and currently puts his experience for the development of aircraft data management solution to enhance SITAONAIR’s nose-to-tail portfolio proposition. 

In addition to his work Pierre-Yves teaches corporate strategy at International University in Geneva,

Pierre-Yves is passionate about aviation and holds a private pilot licence.

 
Federico Bonaudi
Manager Facilitation, Parliamentary Affairs & Regional Airports, ACI Europe

Federico Bonaudi joined ACI EUROPE in September 2008 and covers policy developments relating to Facilitation, Parliamentary Affairs and Regional Airports.

Immediately prior to joining ACI EUROPE, Federico worked at the AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD) where he was Project Manager (2006-2008). He has extensive experience of the international and European affairs, having worked in a number of positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Uruguay (1994-2006).

Federico holds a BA in International Relations from the Universidad de la República in Uruguay and an MA from the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Uruguay.

A Belgian and Uruguayan national, Federico speaks fluent English, French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese. He has a keen interest in history.

 
Alan Burgess
Senior Product Manager, SITA

Alan Burgess has been actively involved in the Airport industry since 1994, and joined SITA in Atlanta in January 2002.

Alan has worked on the implementation of information technology solutions for airports in South Africa, Mexico and the USA and has been actively involved in the development of new solutions for airport customers.

In his current role his primary focus is advanced BI solutions for business users, including airports, airlines and other stakeholders taking advantage of rapidly advancing technology and increasing access to data.

Prior to his involvement in the Airport industry Alan worked as an IT specialist in both technical and business development roles for IT suppliers including: Sperry and IBM. He graduated with a BCom degree from the University of The Witwatersrand in South Africa and a BSc in Information Systems from the University of South Africa. He is married and has two sons. 

 
Stephen Challis
Product Development Airports, SITA
 
Stephen has 20 years’ experience operating as client and consultant within complex commercial travel and transportation service delivery environments. Focusing on reducing complexity to deliver great customer experiences and efficient business operations.

As part of SITA’s Airports Business Unit, Stephen is responsible for developing a comprehensive portfolio of Identity Management products and services and helping customers design and deliver highly effective outcomes to their often complex business challenges.

Prior to SITA , Stephen was Head of Innovation at BAA,  where he was instrumental in developing many new ground breaking airport and airline services and technologies including internet check-in, common use self-service check-in and automated border clearance services. 
 
Sergio Colella
President Europe, SITA

Sergio Colella was appointed President, Europe in July 2017.

Prior to SITA, Sergio was the Vice President and General Manager of HP Enterprise Services EMEA South, responsible for leading a transformation to align the organization, processes and talents to the fast changing, solution-led enterprise services business at HP. Before this, Sergio was Managing Partner at Accenture, in charge of the Automotive, Industrial Equipment, Infrastructure and Transportation practice for Europe & Latin America.

Sergio holds an Engineering Sciences degree, as well as a Master in Business Administration. 

 
Barbara Dalibard
Chief Executive Officer, SITA

Barbara Dalibard is CEO and a member of the Board of Directors of SITA, appointed in July 2016.

She brings a strong track record and passion for innovation and collaboration to the role.

Barbara's vision is to build on SITA's leading position at the heart of the air transport industry, using technology to transform business and industry issues.   

Barbara joined SITA from SNCF (the French National Railway Company), a Fortune 500 company, where she served as CEO of SNCF Voyageurs; which manages all passenger traffic, long distance and commuter services; and was a member of the French rail operator’s Management Committee. Prior to joining SNCF in 2010, she spent seven years with Orange Business Services, five as CEO and President, Equant.

The majority of her career was spent at France Telecom where she held a variety of senior management positions and was responsible for creating new internet and mobile service offerings. Later, she became head of the company’s enterprise offering, first for France and then internationally.

She holds a Master of Science and Engineering from Telecom ParisTech and a Master of Mathematics from the Ecole Normale Supérieure. She was awarded an honorary doctorate degree by the Ecole Polytechnique and the University of Montreal.

 
Christian Dana
Senior Product Manager AMS, SITA

Christain Dana has a degree in Electronic Engineering with a specialization on Telematics. 

He started working in the Consumer Electronics market in the Netherlands, then I moved into the consultancy world. In the past he ran his own company in Italy delivering Consultancy in Communication and IT in various sectors among which Aviation. Then he moved into Accenture as a Consultant in the Energy sector.

In 2008 he joined SITA as a Solution Designer in the EU GEO and after 3 years he moved to the Airport Operations World. In 2015 he became Product Manager of AMS.

 
Peter Drummond
Portfolio Director, Baggage, SITA

Peter joined SITA in 2003, his initial role was systems engineer rising to Development manager for BagManager leading the delivery of multiple baggage solutions to customers globally including Hong Kong, Dublin, London Gatwick, Singapore to name a few. More recently he has managed WorldTracer baggage tracing and repatriation service and now leads the SITA Baggage Portfolio.

Prior to SITA, Peter worked for a small IT start up in the Transport domain and the UN Environment Programme as an Oracle Database Administrator.

He graduated with a Business Degree from Derby University and is based at SITAs Old Vinyl Factory office in Hayes, UK. 

 
Vivien Eberhardt
Head of Business Develeopment - Cyber Security, SITA
 
Vivien Eberhardt is the Head of Business Development, for SITA Cyber Security. SITA is owned by the Air Transport Industry. SITA advise Airlines and Airports globally; to reduce their exposure to cyber risks, and to assist these organisations in their efforts to deal with cyber threats, and regulations (Data Protection, Critical Infrastructures, Aircraft).

Vivien has embraced a twenty-five years’ international career with top 100 Fortune organisations (Finance, Oil & Gas, IT Outsourcing) in Europe and in the United States, leading international consultant teams, for global customers digital transformations, and Cyber Security programs developments. He is
based in Geneva, Switzerland, at the SITA Head Quarter.
 
Stephan Egli
Commercial Vice President, EMEA, SITA ONAIR

Stephan is responsible for SITAONAIR’s commercial operations in the Middle East, Europe and Africa. His role is to oversee the company’s business and commercial activities, and to be a key commercial point of contact for airlines.

Stephan previously held the position of Chief Commercial Officer of OnAir and played a critical role in expanding the company’s products and customer base. He was also responsible for marketing, sales and business development.

Stephan has more than 25 years of executive management experience in the global aviation industry. He was Vice President Network Management and member of the Executive Committee at Swissair. Starting in 1997 he also served as Vice President Europe, Middle East and Africa for Delta Airlines, based in London, and more recently as Senior Vice President Global Marketing for LSG Holding, a Lufthansa subsidiary.

Stephan Egli, a Swiss national, holds an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Phoenix, Arizona. Stephan is based at SITAONAIR’s headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.

 
Michael Gerhards
Managing Director, Airbus Cybersecurity Germany

Michael Gerhards is working in the IT industry since 1985.

He started at Honeywell Bull in 1985, working in international training, later as a consultant in customer projects. After that he took various management positions,  he was CEO for Bull in Germany for ten years, followed by a position as Director Western Europe. He joined Atos with Bull in 2013 and became director in the Big-Data & Security Division. 

Since beginning of this year he is the General Manager of Airbus Cybersecurity in Germany. He has a strong technology background and long term experience in building new business and cooperating closely with his customers and other industrial partners.

 
Paul Gibson
AIRCOM® Portfolio Director, SITA ONAIR

Paul Gibson became Portfolio Director of SITAONAIR’s AIRCOM® solutions in 2015 when the company was launched as part of the SITA Group. Paul had become Portfolio Director of SITA’s Aircraft Services business for Aircraft Applications in 2013 and was responsible for the SITA Airline Operations Applications portfolio.

In his role Paul is responsible for defining product roadmaps for SITAONAIR’s airline operational applications, including AIRCOM® Server and FlightTracker.

Paul has over 20 years’ experience in the aviation industry specialising in Airline and Aircraft Communications and Operations. Paul, who has a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from The University of Hertfordshire, is based at SITAONAIR's regional headquarters in London.
 
Charlotte Graire
Head of Strategy and Development, Airbus DS Cybersecurity

Charlotte Graire started her career in Cyber Security before widening her scope to Software, Infrastructures and IT Managed Services in Europe for Atos/Bull.

Charlotte joined Stormshield in 2013, with the responsibility of merging the Sales and Marketing teams of Arkoon and Netasq.

Charlotte, since 2016, is now in charge developing new markets and alliances that will support the Airbus DS CyberSecurity Strategy.

Charlotte Graire graduated from the Ecole Polytechnique Féminine (Engineering) and holds an Advanced Certificate (Women Be European Board Ready from ESSEC business school.

 
Ilya Gutlin
President, Air Travel Solutions

 

Ilya Gutlin was appointed President, Air Travel Solutions in October 2016.

Ilya has executive responsibility for Air Travel Solutions, which serves the communications and IT solution needs of airlines, airports and governments.

Previously, Ilya served as President, Asia Pacific for over four years, driving growth and promoting innovation with SITA’s customers across the region. Prior to that he was Vice President of SITA’s Airport Solution Line where he was the architect behind SITA’s ‘Intelligent Airport’ vision.

Ilya joined SITA in 1998 as a financial controller and from 2003 to 2009 successfully led the regional sales team in East and Central Europe. He graduated with distinction with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University in Montreal. Ilya is fluent in Russian and English and speaks French. He is based in Singapore.

 
Mikko Kosonen
Flight Operations, Finnair

Master of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering  from Helsinki University of Technology, graduated in 1998.

Joined Finnair in 1999 as a Flight Operations Engineer specializing in Aircraft Performance.

Still works actively in Aircraft Performance and Weight & Balance, and has also been in charge of MEL & CDL manuals.

Approximately one year of experience in Datalink and Aircraft connectivity issues as the latest addition to professional portfolio.

 
David Lavorel
Chief Executive Officer, SITA ONAIR

David Lavorel was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of SITAONAIR in January 2016.

Under David’s leadership, SITAONAIR will continue its strategic focus helping airlines realize the full potential of the connected aircraft.

Prior to assuming his role, David worked at SITA as a Senior VP Corporate Development and Head of the CEO office. His responsibilities included enabling the execution of the company's growth and development plans through mergers and acquisitions and strategic business development activities.  In addition, he supported and represented SITA’s CEO on a selected number of corporate and business matters.

Before joining SITA in January 2000, David served as Vice President, Mergers & Acquisitions and Head of France Telecom Partnership Management (SITA Communications business).

A graduate engineer from Ecole Nationale Superieure des Telecommunications, David started his career in consulting including working for KPMG Consulting and has more than 15 years of international IT and telecommunications services experience.
 
 
Alberto Mattiello

Alberto is a technology and marketing expert with 18 year of Business and Digital Innovation Consulting experience.

David Oxley
Senior Economist, IATA

David Oxley is a Senior Economist at IATA. David has more than a decade of experience in macroeconomic analysis and forecasting in both the public and private sectors. He is responsible for IATA Economics’ regular analyses of aviation industry trends and market developments, and runs IATA’s long-term passenger forecasting service. He previously worked for the New Zealand Treasury in Wellington, and Capital Economics and Oxford Economics in the UK.

 
Federico Pistono
Futurist, writer, entrepreneur, researcher

Federico Pistono is a writer, entrepreneur, researcher, and public speaker. He holds a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Verona, and he's a graduate of Singularity University, NASA Ames Research Park. 

He has co-founded four startups—two in Italy and two in the US—in the fields of e-learning, media production and distribution, wireless communication technology, and has consulted on technology and innovation for governments and Fortune 500 companies across the world. 

In 2012 he wrote the book "Robots Will Steal Your Job, But That's OK: How to Survive the Economic Collapse and be Happy", which became an international success, published in English, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Korean, and Chinese. Ron Reed
Business Intelligence Portfolio Director, SITA

Mr. Reed has worked for SITA for 17 years in various Marketing roles.  He currently serves as Director, Airport Operations Portfolio where he is responsible for the following:

Leading the product management team with the deployment of new and innovative BI products for the airport market including digital solutions such as mobile apps, APIs, beacons and day of operations decision making tools

Before joining SITA, Ron was employed with Delta Air Lines where he worked in several departments including Revenue Management and Corporate Planning.   Mr. Reed began his career in aviation with Lockheed Martin Aeronautical Company.  Ron’s background also includes an MBA and various professional accreditations and memberships such as Airport Management Professional Accreditation Program (AMPAP).

 
Gudmundur Dadi Runarsson
Technical and Infrastructure Director, Keflavik International Airport

Gudmundur Dadi Runarsson has been involved in the aviation industry from the age of 18 when he started as a baggage handler during school holidays at Icelandair and has never looked back.

Following spells in ground operations, revenue management, project implementation and management director of a ground handling company Dadi is currently the Technical and Infrastructure Director for Keflavik International Airport with management responsibility of all investment programs and airport development, aerodrome infrastructure including, facility management and project planning & engineering as well as resource management including Baggage Handling Systems.

Dadi holds a master degree in engineering management from DTU, is a father of one and an adventurous traveler but at the same time knows no better place on earth than the highlands of Iceland.

 
Johannes Scharnberg
Director Aviation/Prokurist, Hamburg Airport

Mr. Scharnberg graduated at Public Administration and Administrative sciences. 

He has more than 15 years experiences in various positions at investment control Hansestadt Lübeckcareer. Next 2 years moved to role of Managing Director Flughafen Lübeck GmbH, Infratil Airports Europe Ltd. and 3 years Managing Director Groundstars GmbH, STARS GmbH, CATS GmbH, CSP GmbH. 

From 2012 he is a Director Aviation / Prokurist at Hamburg Airport.

 
Roberto Segala
Head of Portfolio Management, Heathrow Airport

Roberto Segala is responsible for Property Portfolio and for developing and overseeing Heathrow’s commercial strategy for IT & Telecoms. In 2017, Heathrow will deliver a number of exciting projects to enhance the wireless connectivity at the airport and transform the passenger experience. The projects include a new 4G cellular common infrastructure, the deployment of Beacons and a “Wi-Fi on the Move” service that allows users to stay connected throughout the airport.

 
Dirk Spengler
Chief Information Officer, Stuttgart Airport
 
After his graduation with a degree in business information technology, Dirk Spengler worked for several companies as consultant and executive manager in process  optimization and sourcing.

In July 2001, he started as head of the Department of Information and Communication Technology at Stuttgart Airport.

In 2009 the responsibility for the Center Facility Management, Energy, Vehicle Fleet and Environment was assigned to him. Since them Mr Spengler is authorized officer and head of infrastructure and therefore the central service provider at Stuttgart Airport. He manages about 125 employees and a budget of about 60 Million €.
 
Peter Sutcliffe
Head of Border Management Portfolio, ATS, SITA

Peter joined SITA in 2011, with an initial role that saw him successfully delivery the Saudi Arabia iBorders solution, as Solution Designer and Chief Engineer. He has since led the development and supported pre-sales activities for a number of Government solutions and products, more recently as lead of the Border Management Portfolio team.

Peter has worked for a number of Lead Systems Integration companies, primarily in the Defence domain, before joining SITA. He graduated with a Masters degree in Systems Engineering from Loughborough University in the UK.

He is based in SITA’s Royal Pavilion office in Hampshire, UK.

 
Jan van Anrooy
COO, Dortmund Airport

Jan van Anrooy was appointed COO for Dortmund Airport in January 2013. Prior to joining Dortmund Airport, Jan gained over 30 years experience in the Aviation Industry at Airline, Airport Handling, Network Handling and Supplier level.

After having completed his studies in The Netherlands and having joined KLM Royal Dutch Airlines in the eighties, Jan worked in several (management) roles in Operational and Commercial departments. Throughout his career that continued with Envirotainer and Swissport, he developed an excellent understanding of the Interests of the different stakeholders in the Airline Industry.

Building on his knowledge and skills, currently, in his role as COO, his major challenge is to optimize Operational processes in an LCC playing field, consequently to initiate Cost Reductions and to contribute to Revenue increases in both Aviation and non-Aviation businesses for the Airport. His ultimate goal to achieve for Dortmund Airport is to meet EU set financial targets in 2023.

 
Etienne van Zuiljen
Sales Specialist Senior Management, SITA

Etienne leads Business Development Airport Operations for SITA in EUR region. Responsible for developing SITA’s Airport Management Suite and AirportPulse Advanced BI business and leading sales of EUR Airport sector opportunities, including Integrated Airport Control Centers and Single Token travel. He is SITA's lead consultant on A-CDM and TAM professional services.

Prior to joining early 2015, Etienne for over 15 years held several senior roles at Schiphol Group, with an emphasis on airport operations, A-CDM deployment and SESAR airport operations management development. 2012-2014 Etienne worked as an independent consultant to Airports, Airlines, International Organisations and system providers in the area of Airport Operations Management. His expertise includes the development, tailoring & implementation of A-CDM, Total Airport Management, SESAR Airport Operations and Airport CO2 emissions programs. From 2006-2009 Etienne served as Policy Manager at ACI EUROPE in Brussels in these domains.

Etienne represents SITA in various ACI technical committees and is a regular conference chair / moderator at industry events as Passenger Terminal Expo, ATC Global, Future Travel Experience and Airport IT conferences.

 
Dirk Weigel
Vice Presisdent and IBM Managing Director Lufthansa Group

Dirk Weigel joined IBM in November 2011 to lead the Strategc Outsourcing  Business in Germany. After successfully winning a major  transaction to outsource the IT infrstaructure business with Lufthansa in 2013 he has lead IBM Aviation Industry Services, the newly acquired company, as CEO. In January 2017 Dirk Weigel became IBM Managing Director to lead the global business relationship with Lufthansa Group.Before joining IBM Dirk Weigel spent more than 15 years in the Telecommunications and IT service industry with a significant track record in successfully winning and managing complex outsourcing transactions with large international corporations. He has started his career as a managment consultant and partner of an international strategy consuling firm.

Dirk Weigel is 56 years old and lives with his family in Wiesbaden, Germany.

 
Timo Westerberg

Manfred Zoetl
Managing Director, InfoGate Information Systems GmbH

Manfred Zötl holds the position of the Managing Director of InfoGate Information Systems GmbH – a subsidiary of Flughafen München GmbH. He is responsible for the marketing, development and implementation of customer projects around the InfoGate product family. As Vice President, he is also responsible for Demand Management & Sales of Munich Airport’s Service Division IT.

After completing his degree in Economics, Manfred Zötl held various positions within Munich Airport, including system development, key account management, project management and consulting. He has been responsible for the development and the going to market of the InfoGate product line.

 
Dirk Zschunke
Project Manager air/ground communication, Lufthanse

 

Dirk Zschunke is based at Frankfurt Rhein/Main airport as product Owner for the Air/Ground Communication System for Lufthansa airline, responsible to manage the interface to the communication service providers. He works for Lufthansa airline since 2003.

 

Before that he studied Transport & Transportation Engineering at the Dresden University of Technology with degree of “Diplom-Ingenieur” (equivalent to Master’s Degree). After university he worked for Lido dealing with flight plan analysis and FMS NavDatabase customization.

 

He is a chairman of the AEEC’s AOC SubCommittee defining the ARINC633 standard (today focusses on definition of data structures and exchange methods for electronic flight folder content) since 2007. He worked on several projects dealing with integration of aircraft systems into airline and ATC systems or entry-into-service projects for “NG” aircraft.
