What is the headquarters hotel for the Annual Meeting?
There isn’t one specific headquarter hotel this year. SBL & AAR sessions will be held primarily in the San Diego Convention center and surrounding hotels. The Book Exhibits will be held at the San Diego Convention Center. 
 

Why should I book my room through the Annual Meetings room block?

  • SAVE MONEY $$ — The Annual Meetings hotel rate will be the LOWEST rate offered at each property during the Annual Meeting timeframe. Additionally, concessions have been included in the room rate, such as complimentary Internet.
  • KEEP REGISTRATION RATES LOW – The Annual Meetings have negotiated great rates at 13 different hotels, giving you a range of choices for prices and amenities. In exchange, we are able to negotiate a better rate for convention center meeting space and thus keep registration rates very affordable – much less expensive than other comparable events. For this reason, we ask that you please book your hotel rooms within the designated block in order to continue to keep future Annual Meetings affordable for all.
  • NETWORK - By staying at the contracted hotels, you enhance your opportunities to meet with colleagues and share experiences and ideas. 
If I want to go back and add a hotel room, change my hotel reservation, or cancel my hotel reservation after registering for the Annual Meetings 2024, what do I need to do?
You may add a hotel, make changes to your current hotel reservation, or cancel your registration at any time prior to October 24th.  To do this, please follow the link provided in your confirmation email to access your registration record.  Once you have accessed your registration record you will be able to make the changes.
 
I've chosen a hotel but the dates I want aren't available.  What do I do?
  • If the dates you are selecting are between November 20-November 26, and the hotel you are selecting doesn't show these dates available, it means they are sold out of the Annual Meeting rate rooms for those nights.  Please select another hotel with your dates available.  
  • If you are wishing to check in earlier than November 20 or later than November 26, please put this information in the special requests field.  SBL and AAR will contact the hotel to see if those dates can be extended to you at the Annual Meeting rate.  If they can, SBL and AAR will make those changes to your record and send you an updated registration record.  If they cannot, you will be contacted with alternative options.
I'm rooming with someone.  Do we both need to make a hotel reservation?
No, only one of you needs to make a hotel reservation.  In the space indicated during the hotel booking process you will be asked to list your roomate.  If you both make a reservation, you will have two hotel rooms.
 
How do I book a suite?
Please select a hotel and enter your information.  In the special requests field indicate you would like information for a suite.  Someone from SBL or AAR will contact you with that information to review.
 
Why do I have to enter my credit card information?
Your credit card information is used to secure your reservation. Without a credit card, the hotel will not secure your reservation. You will not be charged until you check out of the hotel; however, many hotels will charge one-night’s room and tax approximately two weeks prior to your check in date. Please note that credits cards that expire in October or November will need to be updated in your registration record by ‘modifying’ your hotel payment in the housing section of your registration. If not, the reservation is subject to cancellation.
 
I've called the hotel directly to make changes to my reservations and they do not have my record.  What do I do?
Currently both SBL & AAR manage the housing blocks for the Annual Meetings 2024.  We will release the blocks in November and send your information to the hotel properties at this time.  If you need to make any changes prior to October 24, you will need to do so by following the instructions in your registration confirmation email.
 
Where is my hotel located?
If you check your registration confirmation, you will see a link that will take you to your registration and housing confirmation page.  Click on that and you will see your housing information, that includes an address to the hotel.

I am only attending one day and will purchase my registration on site.  How do I book a hotel room?
To be able to book a hotel room at the Annual Meeting discounted rate, you must be registered prior to selecting a hotel.  The ability to book a hotel at the Annual Meeting hotel rate will close on October 24.

Will there be a shuttle from hotel to the convention center?
No, there will not be an Annual Meetings bus or shuttle from the hotels to convention center this year.
