The organisers are looking to ensure that we maximise the number of people who are able to attend the conference within the funding available. We request that only people who do not have access to other funding sources apply so that we can provide these to those in
need. We have kept the registration fee as low as possible.

This is the first international Indigenous conference in Australia and is a fantastic opportunity to network with others from Australia and other countries. We encourage you to attend as much of the conference and organised events as possible. 


Scholarships will include (dependent on individual need):
- Flights within Australia to Sydney and return 
- Accommodation for up to 3 nights in Sydney (Note: Residents in Greater Area Sydney will not be provided with accommodation)
- Registration to the conference (Note: Other costs are to be covered by the delegate themselves). 


Scholarships are to be provided to primarily Australian residents including:
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander HIV Positive Persons
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health workers with an interest in Sexual Health & HIV
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Youth (18 – 25 years old) 
- Internationals. Note: Flights will not be provided. 


The organisers would like to encourage application for a scholarship and submission of an abstract from:
- HIV Positive Persons
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers 
- People who inject drugs
- Sex workers
- Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual,Transgender and Intersex people
- Sister girls and Brother boys
- Young people (18 – 25)
- Community Elders
- Rural & remote based people


Confidentiality
Information on these items and others above will be requested but will be kept confidential. Only a small scholarship committee will have access to these responses for decision making on scholarship recipients. 


Conditions on successful recipients
Applicants must be willing to adhere to the following conditions if they are successful in
receiving a scholarship including:
- Recipients will be required to attend all the conference to make the most out of this opportunity.  We will also be seeking recipients to do some volunteer roles which may include Meet & Greet at the airport (For Sydney residents), Registration, Set up work and handing out Q&A mics during sessions
- Knowledge learnt from the conference is to be taken back to your communities
- Any damage to hotels or other areas during the conference period will be the recipients responsibility
- A deposit will be required at the hotel if you do not have a credit card. Normally $100
- Mini bars will be removed in scholarship hotels
- We request that if you are unable to attend you advise us as soon as possible. Any no-shows at the conference will be required to reimburse the cost of the accommodation or flights
