Christa Carone

Christa Carone is the chief marketing officer of Xerox Corporation. She was named to this position in September 2008, and was appointed a vice president of the corporation in May 2010. Carone is responsible for global marketing strategy and initiatives that include advertising, experiential marketing, public relations, internal communications, integrated campaigns, interactive and social marketing, and the Xerox Foundation. She is also the steward of the company's brand, leading global activities that serve to protect the value of the Xerox name and multi-billion dollar brand. 
 
Carone joined Xerox in 1996 as communications manager for the company's manufacturing and supply chain division. She was named corporate media relations manager in 1998 and head of corporate public relations in 2001. In July 2007, she broadened her role to include all worldwide public relations activities and was named to head up Xerox's newly created Global Communications organization.
 
 
 
Rick Jackson

Rick Jackson joined VMware in February 2009 and is responsible for the company’s global marketing strategy, bringing more than 25 years of software industry experience. He has held executive-level positions in marketing, sales and business development, including chief marketing roles at Borland Software and BEA Systems, as well as roles in engineering, field sales, business development and marketing. Jackson holds a bachelor of science degree in computer science from California State University, Northridge.
 
 
Heidi Melin

As Chief Marketing Officer, Heidi Melin is responsible for driving brand strategy and marketing initiatives to further position Taleo as the global leader in talent management.  Melin is charged with aligning sales strategies with marketing, which includes a strong focus on developing integrated communications programs across global regions and communications channels.

A marketing veteran with more than 20 years of corporate and agency experience, Melin has a proven track record of successful, award-winning marketing programs that deliver bottom line results. Melin joins Taleo from Polycom where she served as senior vice president and chief marketing officer.  At Polycom, Melin was responsible for the company’s high-touch marketing strategy which included global branding and corporate identity, field and channel marketing, corporate communications, analyst relations, enterprise solutions, demand generation, and events. Melin holds a B.A. in political science from Willamette University.

 
 
 
Karen Quintos

Karen Quintos is senior vice president and chief marketing officer (CMO) for Dell, where she is responsible for bringing the company’s brand to life for Dell customers, team members and stakeholders around the world. She leads brand strategy, global communications, social media, corporate responsibility, global research, marketing talent development and agency management. Karen is also the executive sponsor of the largest networking group at Dell, Women in Search of Excellence (WISE).

Before becoming CMO for Dell in September 2010, Karen served as vice president of Dell’s global public business, responsible for driving global marketing strategies, product and pricing programs, communications and channel plans to reach millions of higher education, government and healthcare institutional customers. Previously, she was vice president of marketing for Dell’s North American commercial business and has also held various executive roles in Dell’s services, contact center and supply chain management teams.

Michael Friedenberg is CEO and president of IDG Enterprise, an IDG company that develops strategic media properties and peer advisory services. Appointed in March 2009, Friedenberg oversees IDG’s award-winning brands, websites, products and services for CIO, CIO Executive Council, CFOworld, Computerworld, CSO, DEMO, InfoWorld, ITWorld, and Network World.

With 20 years in the information technology (IT) media industry, Friedenberg is widely regarded as a dynamic leader and expert who keenly understands the media and technology industry’s evolving needs. In 2010, Friedenberg was inducted into the min Sales Hall of Fame and has been named to BtoB magazine’s “Who’s Who” in business media for eight consecutive years.
Prior to IDG, Friedenberg advanced from United Business Media sales management positions to vice president and publisher of InformationWeek, and later vice president and group publisher of the InformationWeek Media Network and co-founder of Optimize magazine. As VP/group publisher, Friedenberg set the vision, strategy, and positioning of multiple brands across print, online, events, and research services. Friedenberg’s career also includes work with Cardinal Business Media and vertical publications at HP Professional, Midrange Systems, and DEC Professional.

Rich leads IDC’s practice areas focused on providing senior technology marketing and sales executives with research and insights to improve the productivity and efficiency of their organizations.  Rich started the practice for IDC with the 2003 introduction of the CMO Advisory service focusing on analysis of marketing investments and key marketing performance indicators across the worldwide IT vendor community.  Rich is a frequent speaker at IT industry and marketing executive forums where he presents his views on trends in technology marketing and best practices to improve operational efficiently.  His work has been quoted in leader in marketing publications such as B2B, CMO Magazine and CRM Magazine.  Rich has over 20 years of high technology marketing experience as both a researcher and market practitioner.

Kirk Campbell joined IDC as Chief Operating Officer in 1990 and became President and CEO in 1991. Under his leadership, IDC has rapidly strengthened its position in the technology market intelligence business. Since 1990 IDC's revenues have increased ten times to over $350 million, the number of employees has quintupled to more than 1,700, and the number of countries which IDC research covers has grown from 25 to over 110. As a result, IDC offers the most comprehensive market intelligence available on all key technology segments from the internet, PCs, systems, peripherals and semiconductors to software, services, telecommunications, vertical markets and distribution channels. IDC has invested heavily in developing an unrivaled research network at the worldwide, regional, and country levels.

Mr. Campbell joined International Data Group in 1988 as a Vice President responsible for corporate business planning and analysis for over 100 IDG business units. Prior to his position at IDG, Mr. Campbell was Vice President, Finance and Corporate Development for PennWell Publishing, a high-tech information and publishing company. He also held financial positions with Exxon Corporation. Mr. Campbell earned a Bachelor's degree from Stanford University and a Master's degree from Princeton University. He also was a Fulbright Scholar at the Free University in Berlin, Germany.
 
 
 
Bob Carrigan

Bob Carrigan is CEO of IDG Communications, IDG’s media and events subsidiary.   He oversees IDG’s media operations, including online, print, and events in 90 countries around the world.  Prior to assuming his worldwide CEO role in 2008, Carrigan was responsible for business units in the U.S., including CIO and CSO, Computerworld, InfoWorld, Macworld, Network World, PCWorld, GamePro, and IDG World Expo.   

Carrigan returned to IDG in April 2003 as president and chief executive officer of Computerworld.  He rejoined IDG from America Online, Inc. (AOL) where Carrigan was senior vice president in the Interactive Marketing Group.  Carrigan joined AOL through its acquisition of Spinner.com, an IDG Ventures portfolio company, where he served as senior vice president, e-commerce and advertising for the Internet radio company.

Prior to Spinner.com, Carrigan spent seven years at IDG’s PC World in several senior sales management positions. Carrigan began his career at IDG’s Digital News as an intern while a BU college student.

In 2011, Carrigan was elected as chairman of the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB).  Carrigan became IAB chairman after serving as an IAB board member and a member of the Executive Committee.  

In 2009, Carrigan was named the CEO Innovator for large business publishers by Media Business and has been recognized in the annual Media Business list of “Who’s Who.”   He is also a member of the Media Industry Newsletter (Min) Digital Hall of Fame and Min Sales Hall of Fame.

Patrick J. McGovern is Founder and Chairman of International Data Group (IDG), the world’s leading technology media, events and research company, with annual revenues in 2011 of $3.24 billion.

In 1964, with the computer industry still in its infancy, McGovern founded International Data Corporation (IDC), now an IDG subsidiary, to provide the industry with timely and reliable statistics on information technology markets. Three years later, McGovern launched Computerworld, a weekly newspaper dedicated to keeping computer buyers abreast of industry and product news.

McGovern has overseen IDG’s launch of more than 300 magazines and newspapers and championed the expansion of IDG’s online network to include more than 460 websites worldwide. IDG’s media brands are found in more than 90 countries and include CIO, CSO, Computerworld, GamePro, InfoWorld, Macworld, Network World, PC World and TechWorld. In 2005, McGovern received the Magazine Publishers of America’s (MPA) Lifetime Achievement award. His other industry awards include the 2004 Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Society of Business Publications Editors (ASBPE) and a Top Innovator in Business Publishing Award from BtoB Media Business magazine.

Among his many affiliations, McGovern has served as a director of the Information Industry Association, the Magazine Publishers Association and the American Management Association. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. McGovern is also a trustee of MIT, the McGovern Institute for Brain Research at MIT and the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research.
