in Plastics Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. She has a B.S. from Columbia University and
PhD from the Colorado School of Mines, both in Chemical Engineering. She worked as a field engineer in the
petroleum and municipal water treatment industries and is very interested in
how humans impact the planet.
Her
expertise is in renewable polymers, plastics processing, nanocomposites,
organic photovoltaics and electronics and her research focuses on the
convergence of energy, sustainability, and materials. She teaches a materials for renewable energy
course, is heavily involved in the climate change initiative on campus, and

industry to discuss ways to utilize SPE to navigate their professional and academic careers.
Formed in teams of 3 or 4 people, you will search for QR codes placed in sponsoring booths. These codes will automatically populate a randomly generated question which will test the team’s knowledge in the fields of polymer science, polymer chemistry, plastics engineering and more. Questions can only be answered by visiting sponsors’ booths!
At the conclusion, the team with the most correct answers will be awarded a fantastic prize.
