Nationals of the following countries do not require a visa for travel to Iran
Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bolivia, Georgia, Malaysia, Syria, Turkey, Venezuela
Nationals of the following countries must have a visa stamped in their passport prior to travel to Iran
United Kingdom, Canada, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Iraq, Jordan, Colombia and Somalia

Nationals of the United States of America are subject to additional requirements and longer processing times

Nationals of all other countries can have the visa stamped in their passport upon arrival
More than 180 nationalities can have their visa stamped on arrival at the airport in Tehran. However pre-authorisation is highly recommended. A visa authorisation service is offered as part of the delegate fee.
