World experts share latest research on
Hepatitis C in Substance Users
7-9 September, Oslo
Researchers, health professionals, policy makers, community organisations and advocates are convening in Oslo early September to share latest research on Hepatitis C in people who inject drugs.
They are gathering for the 5th International Symposium on Hepatitis Care in Substance Users, from 7-9 September.
More than 80 million people around the world are estimated to be infected with Hepatitis C. Each year, 700,000 people die from complications of the disease. In many countries, people who inject drugs are the population most affected.
If the World Health Organisation (WHO) goal of eradication of Hepatitis C by 2030 is to be reached, figuring out how to treat people who inject drugs, delivered in conjunction with harm reduction programs, will be key.
INHSU 2016 brings together research from around the world to address this issue, forming evidence-based recommendations for the optimal management of Hepatitis C in substance users.
