What to Expect at Scotiabank Girls Hockey Fest
On Ice
A session dedicated to developing on-ice hockey skills. Players will participate in a series of level-specific drills developed by Hockey Canada's Performance Development team and experienced hockey coaches.
Off Ice
A dryland session focused on hockey-specific cross-training and skills.
Player Classroom Session
An off-ice session led by professional hockey players, coaches and varsity athletes*, where players will have the opportunity to learn from them about careers in hockey and the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship, and participate in a fun team-building activity.
*Session facilitators will vary according to location and availability.
CCM Hockey Equipment
As the official equipment partner of Scotiabank Girls HockeyFest, CCM is proud to provide equipment for the event free of charge to all Learn to Play participants to ensure that the game is accessible to all. Players in all Girls Hockey Fest programs will receive a CCM jersey as well as other goodies to take home!
Snack Packs provided by Sobeys
To help fuel our players and their active lifestyles, Sobeys will provide snack packs and beverages to all Scotiabank Girls Hockeyfest participants.
To accommodate growing demand for Scotiabank Girls HockeyFest and to ensure all interested players have an equal chance to attend, registration for our 2025 programs will run on a lottery system. Here’s a step-by-step explanation of how the lottery will work:
1. Five to six weeks before each event, online registration for the lottery will open.
2. Four weeks before the event, the lottery registration will close.
3. Within 48 hours of registration closing, participants’ names will be randomly selected to attend Scotiabank Girls HockeyFest and confirmation emails will be sent out. Participants will be grouped into sessions based on their age and experience level in hockey.
4. Participants who are not selected in the first draw will automatically be placed on the waitlist. Should any spaces become available, waitlisted players will be notified by email and have a chance to complete their registration.
