Location
West Chester University is a mid-sized university with 16,000 students (graduate and undergraduate) located about 25 miles north-west of Philadelphia. It is part of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE), and the largest of that system's 14 campuses. It was founded in 1871 and became West Chester State Teacher's College in 1927. Historically, one of its strongest programs has been in kinesiology and physical education.
The conference venue is the Sykes Student Union located in the center of campus and across the street from nearby dormitories. The SSU has more than 30,000 square feet available to us including a large 352 seat lecture hall/theater, a subdividable ballroom (with projectors), dining areas, 17 fully equipped meeting rooms, and lounge spaces. There is also easy parking just behind the union building.
