For 79 years, the Annual Conference for Protective Relay Engineers has provided the best available information on protective relay applications and technology. With the changes that have occurred in the electric power industry, including increased concerns over reliability and a business emphasis on efficiency and cost savings, the relay conference is even more important.
The 2026 Conference for Protective Relay Engineers will take place in-person on the Texas A&M University campus from March 30–April 2, 2026. This event will feature paper presentations and Q&A sessions with presenters, an interactive exhibition hall of industry sponsors, and evening receptions.

SynchroGrid Seminar: Our Approach to PRC-027 Wide Area Coordination Using SARA
Monday, March 30, 2026 | 9:30am-12:00pm | MSC 2404
Description: Kick off the conference with SynchroGrid over breakfast tacos while earning PDHs and gaining a practical look at how utilities are confidently approaching PRC-027 wide area coordination! This session is designed for both experienced SARA users and engineers seeking a clear, actionable understanding of PRC-027 workflows.
As the 2027 Requirement 2 deadline approaches, SynchroGrid will demonstrate how SARA’s Wide Area Coordination (WAC) module streamlines compliance by interfacing directly with short-circuit models to uncover coordination challenges and evaluate setting changes across large, complex systems in real time. Attendees will see how protection philosophies are defined, improvements are validated, and how seamless integration with ASPEN and Doble PowerBase™ reduces manual effort while supporting accurate, reliable compliance studies.
ASPEN User Group Meeting
Monday, March 30, 2026 | 1:00 - 4:30pm | MSC 2502
Description: Join ASPEN staff for demos and tutorials of essential features in the ASPEN programs, followed by a roundtable discussion of our development priorities and other topics of your interest. Topics will include an overview of OneLiner Version 16, an update on network model management using EDX and the new EDX Model Builder, an update on Inverter-Based Resource (IBR) modeling and simulation using OneLiner, and a tutorial on OneLiner automation via the Python API. Registration is required. There is no charge to attend this meeting.
