The Top Talent Pass Scheme (TTPS) was announced in the 2022 Policy Address delivered by Hong Kong’s Chief Executive launched on 28 December 2022. This scheme opens a new, flexible door to welcoming international talent who may be interested in working in Hong Kong or establishing a business in Hong Kong, without the need to secure employment or to provide a business plan upon application. This keynote, by Mr. Ho, a government official deeply involved in the labour and welfare matters in Hong Kong, will share his insights on the attractiveness of non-local top talents working in Hong Kong under the TTPS.
Mr. Ho has been Under Secretary for Labour and Welfare at the HKSAR Government since 2020. He had served as Council Member of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Director-General of the Hong Kong Manufacturing Industry Employees General Union, and as a member of the Executive Committee of the Hong Kong Clerical and Professional Employees General Union. Prior to joining the Government, Mr. Ho participated actively in public services and was a member of the Legislative Council, and of the Kwun Tong District Council from 2012 to 2019. He is a member of the Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions. Mr. Ho holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Graduate management education (GME) programs have approached an unpredictable operating environment with innovation and care. The themes of shifting demographics, ChatGPT, online programs, and ESG are currently at the forefront of discussions within higher education. Meanwhile, born between approximately 1996 and 2012, Generation Z (Gen Z) now comprises more than half of the candidates applying to GME programs. For business schools and industry stakeholders, understanding candidates from Gen Z now is critical as programs plan for the road ahead.
How are Asian Gen-Z candidates uniquely navigating their GME journey? How do they expect business schools and future employers to engage with the political and social challenges of our complex and interconnected world? This session will share highlights from GMAC’s white paper on Generation Z, insights from GMAC Prospective Students Survey and the Corporate Recruiters Survey, as well as the best practice from global leading business schools in Asia Market.

The advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is poised to usher in a seismic shift in the future of work and recruitment. Unlike previous technologies, AI has the potential to fundamentally transform labor markets by becoming a labor-replacing tool, rendering many routine and repetitive tasks obsolete. To remain relevant in this evolving job landscape, individuals will need to cultivate three critical skills: critical thinking, lifelong learning, and interpersonal skills.
As AI progresses, it is foreseeable that even technically complex roles like programming and data science could become entirely automated, with non-technical professionals effectively managing intricate software development projects. However, certain professions, particularly those related to entrepreneurship and business management, are likely to endure, underscoring the need for adaptable skillsets and a forward-thinking approach to navigating the evolving world of work. During his keynote talk, Pedro will explore all of these things and more as they relate to the world of work. School attendees will discover ways to better prepare students for the workplace of the future, and employer attendees will understand ways AI can help their recruitment activities.
