Leading Through Change: Harnessing the Power of the Prosci ADKAR® Model

Pre-Conference Workshop, Sunday, June 23

In today's dynamic business environment, change is the new constant. Successfully navigating and leading through change requires a deep understanding of how individuals move through the change process. This pre-conference workshop offers an opportunity to explore the psychological aspects of change and learn how to effectively apply the Prosci ADKAR® Model to support individuals and teams during periods of transition.

Participants will gain valuable insights into the human side of change and acquire practical tools to guide individuals through each stage of the change journey. The Prosci ADKAR® Model provides structure to the otherwise uncertain period between the "current state" and your end goal, the "future state." By focusing on strategies to foster resilience, diminish resistance, and instill a culture of adaptability within your organization, you will be better equipped to support your teams. By providing the necessary structure to support change, you can significantly elevate the likelihood of positive outcomes, including better morale and increased productivity. Join our Director of Risk Management and Strategy Katie Myers for this interactive workshop to learn how leveraging the Prosci ADKAR® Model can transform your approach to leading through change and ultimately drive favorable results for your people and your business.

Women in Power

Pre-Conference Workshop, Sunday, June 23
2:00 PM-4:30 PM
No additional registration fee
Refreshments Provided

New and emerging female leaders face unique challenges as they navigate their leadership journey. While NRECA has seen an uptick in females taking on key leadership roles at electric cooperatives, many new leaders can stumble in their first few months on the job if their transition is not thoughtful and intentional. When transition is done well, the company is prepared for a new leader with a change agenda, and the new leader is more tuned in to existing power dynamics, to the way culture influences a strategy shift, or even to which cultural changes will be necessary to support the strategy.

Whether hired from the outside or promoted from within, we’ll cover a few keys areas to consider:
  • Knowing your own market value and negotiating compensation
  • Understanding how to handle change and how to accommodate the cultural and political aspects of a company
  • Learning to present yourself as an executive
  • Knowing when to delegate

The workshop will be lead by NRECA's Director of Human Capital Planning and Compensation Delaine Orendorff, MBA, SPHR, CCP, and NRECA's SVP of Education, Training, and Events Erin Pressley, CAE.

Women in Power provides leadership education, a mentoring program, and a supportive online community to women in existing or emerging leadership roles at utilities across the country.
