Travel Assistance

Application Guidelines

MHI and MHEFI award a limited number of schools or individuals with travel grants or stipends to help offset the cost of travel to MODEX 2024. Funds will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis for applicants meeting the requirements. Approvals will be communicated by email. 

Upon notification of approval, all student names and emails must be submitted in the registration system by the deadline date shown below to receive the grant/stipend. Names submitted after the deadline will not be considered toward the final payment amount.

Travel Grant

Qualification: School located 75+ miles away from the Georgia World Congress Center
Schools located 75+ miles away can apply for a travel grant of $250 per person for up to ten (10) students and faculty members for a maximum payment of $2,500.  You may register more than ten (10) students to attend. A maximum of one grant is awarded per school. 

Travel Stipend

Qualifications: Schools located under 75 miles from the Georgia World Congress Center or Individual Students and Educators 
Schools located within 75 miles will receive a travel stipend of $250. To qualify for the stipend, at least five (5) students must be registered and attend the event. Individual Students and Educators may also request a Travel Stipend if they are 18+ years or older and traveling alone.  No more than ten (10) individual travel stipends will be accepted from individuals from the same school. 

Travel Grants and stipends are subject to staff review and approval. 

Reimbursement

Grants/Stipends will be sent by check or electronic funds transfer and disbursed after April 1, 2024.  Payment will be made to the information provided on the application only. No exceptions. Final payment is based on registration names provided by the deadline date AND confirmation of badge scanned at Student Day. 

Hotel Accommodations

We have limited special rate hotel rooms for students and schools needing financial assistance. Hotel rooms are on a first-come, first-served basis. All names MUST be supplied in the Hotel Rooming List Form by February 9, 2024.
