Student and Professional Poster Submissions


This year’s poster session is open to submissions from students and professionals. CAL ASA seeks science-based abstracts in fields related to agricultural and environmental stewardship. Conference sessions this year include integrated pest management, soil health, water and nutrient management, regenerative agriculture, and using data on the farm. Posters are not limited to these topics.

Students accepted to present a poster may compete for cash awards based on the quality of their poster. Posters will be displayed on themorning of Thursday, February 6, and taken down after 7 pm that day. A reception will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., on Feb. 6. Presenters are asked to stand by their posters during the reception to discuss their work with conference attendees and judges.

Poster deadlines:

Wednesday December 4, 2024, 11:59 PM: Preliminary abstract submission
December 20, 2024: Notification of acceptance
January 3, 2025: Final abstracts due

Tips for Poster Preparation
  • You should print and bring your poster with you to registration check-in. Poster size should not exceed 36"high by 48"wide.
  • Posters will be pinned to large poster boards. Please DO NOT mount your poster on foam board.
  • Concentrate on a few main points, rather than crowding too much information into the poster.
  • Highlight your title, headings, and subheadings with colors and colored lines.
  • Format headings and subheadings to be at least 25% larger than the text copy in bold or semi bold.
  • Keep your text in short, concise, legible statements. Minimize complete sentences and paragraphs.
  • Text in upper and lower case letters is more readable than all capitals. Text should be at least 1/4-inch (0.64 cm) tall and readable from a distance of 6 feet (1.8 m)
