Three days of industry discussions, with optional field trips and networking opportunities

This year, sessions will focus on fostering collective action and providing a platform for on-the-ground voices, while exploring the role of Textile Exchange’s tools, resources, and programs in achieving our Climate+ goals. Some of the key topics will include Textile Exchange’s unified standard system, traceability, regenerative agriculture, slow growth, deforestation, and more.

IN THE INDUSTRY

Many of those with the most leverage to accelerate progress on climate action sit in this room, as decision-makers within global organizations. To kick off the conference, we’ll get to grips with the industry’s responsibility in taking the lead. How can we create systems that hold core decision-makers accountable?  What targets is science telling us we must meet, and what tools do we have at our disposal to help us get there? It’s about coming together, listening to the diversity of industry-wide experiences, and aligning around resources and programs that enable us to collectively change the system.

Day 02 • Wednesday October 25
ON THE GROUND

Day two’s agenda is grounded in another fundamental truth: while global brands and industry players often have the power and the financial potential to drive change, most of the real, tangible action happens on the ground – by farmers, forest managers, waste collectors, and other raw material producers. Hypothetical solutions hold no weight in isolation. That’s why the second day of the conference aims to elevate the voices of rightsholders, acknowledging that those most impacted by the problems hold critical insights to shape the solutions.

IN PROGRESS

The third day is a space for accelerating action going forward. Together, we will look at how to shape a system that will facilitate the solutions and ideas discussed so far. What does rethinking growth really look like in practice? Are innovative materials the answer; what about scaling textile to textile recycling – have we made any progress? And now governments and policymakers have started to listen, what do we need to start doing to meet upcoming regulations?

DAY 04 • Friday October 27
IN THE FIELD

The last day of our conference is dedicated to optional field trips – a unique opportunity to get to the source of material production and meet with farmers and producers working in this space. To fully go from theory to practice, we’ve got to get out and see what’s really happening in the field. It’s about going back to the start of the supply chain, building an understanding of where raw materials come from and how they impact communities and ecosystems on the ground.

Field Trips

We give attendees a chance to explore material production on the ground

We believe that learning about responsible materials production starts in the field. Visiting farmers and producers is an essential part of understanding where fibers and materials come from, and the impact that they have on people and local ecosystems. That’s why, as part of our conference, we give attendees the opportunity to join field trips to local supply chain partners.
