When an institution can achieve a data-informed decision culture, important decisions are equitable, reliable, and defendable. In order to achieve this culture, institutions must have sufficient data access, capacity, and literacy. This webinar will provide data from a national survey showing the current state of this landscape through the eyes of institutional research and effectiveness leaders. Then, discover how an IR professional embraced her unofficial role as the Chief Data Officer to successfully move the campus culture to make data-informed decisions using cost saving strategies that can be adapted to any institutional environment.
Assessing and improving institutional effectiveness depends on an institution’s capacities for collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and using multiple forms of evidence derived from a variety of sources. This webinar will explore the essential data capacities necessary to support program, process, and institutional improvement efforts, with a special look at what needs to be measured, the types of data those measures require, and systems that can help collect and analyze those data.
Improving data literacy among faculty, staff, administrators, and senior leaders necessitates strategy. This webinar will review strategies for creating and sustaining a data-friendly culture on campus. Specifically, it will focus on how to bring together a cross functional team to create a community of practice on campus that uses data, measurement, and data literacy skills to support decision-making, resource allocation, and institutional effectiveness.
What are promising strategies for identifying inequities in student success outcomes that align with institutional values and goals for diversity, equity, and student success? How can the ways in which institutional terminology are defined guide equity-minded data analysis and inquiry to support continuous improvement and transformation? This webinar will provide examples of practices that support equity-minded data analysis while outlining key obstacles in the process.
